That was only meant to provide background information for the picture. Using insert image didn't display it, so I only put in a link. Should we have one such table in the cafe, for those times when someone needs it?

I'm glad this thread was revived.

Sorry, computer died.

Back now. So, where are all the old-timers? I got a email blast from Alex today saying he started WP 14 years ago. Oh, dear god, was it only 14? 2004? I thought it had been way before then. But maybe not. And then, where did the 14 years go???

Anybody seen Postie lately? Or my Canadian friend? Or SinsBoldy? Anyone????

This seems surreal. To be back on Wrong Planet, especially @ The Dino-Aspie Ex-Café. I got an email from Alex today also, Nan. I've thought of this place a lot during my absence, some good thoughts and some not so good. But, as far as I'm concerned that's water over the dam.

Well my ship's been split to splinters and it's sinking fast
I'm drownin' in the poison, got no future, got no past
But my heart is not weary, it's light and it's free
I've got nothin' but affection for all those who've sailed with me
Everybody movin' if they ain't already there
Everybody got to move somewhere
Stick with me baby, stick with me anyhow
Things should start to get interesting right about now

As far as getting old goes, I am now watching the 1970s movie " THE SUNSHINE BOYS ", about two old vaudeville comedians who get back together again for one last show.
The shots of the " modern world " of 1975 make me feel nostalgic/wistful! :| :(

Arrrgh, I'm getting the "old people's blues"!

Nice to see you guys again. Jeez, has it really been that long ago, though?

I guess it has been. I'm old and retired. My daughter is in her 30s! She was in high school when I used to write here. Seriously, I feel like I've been cryogenically frozen and just revived. And the world has gone well on....

Yeah, the modern world. I found a book at a jumble sale the other day. One of those Woodstock-era DIY homesteader books. Lots of photos and drawings. And I remember when people looked like that, and the clothes, and the incense. And I miss that world a whole lot, sometimes. I often wish we got a "do-over" button, so I could go back to when the Kiddo was little and do it all over again. I'd have worried a lot less and played hookey from school with her a lot more. (Although we did more than most do!) I worried about all the wrong stuff!

Short term memory deficit is no fun. You go down to the basement for peas and come up with a potato. I have grandchildren your daughter's age.

1975 was a very good year.

Well, as the song goes

What a long strange trip it's been!

What are you guys up to these days?

Retired. Spending time with children and grandchildren. Trying to stay cool.

Haven't we all?

Life has a way of getting in the way. I've just spent some time reading what I wrote 10 years ago on here. Life sure was different then.

Wish I had a "do over" and I'd not worry nearly so much about things as I did.
