hi, mom of a 3 yo, just diagnosed and feeling...overwhelmed
Your story reminded me a bit of mine. When I was first diagnosed (at 12 though), one of the things the psychologist told my mum was that I would never be in a relationship. Mum went home and cried about it, but never mentioned it to me until the year before last - when I was in my first relationship.
Life is what you make of it. Your son will be just fine.
Aspergers is both a gift and a curse. He probably will have troubles fitting in and all that, but he will also be blessed with a unique perception of the world, strong interests, and other positive things.
