Absolutely, that sounds like a nice idea, but I'm sorry to hear your bad news, Chris.

hi there.

Your paranoia isn't necessarily related to schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is an over used diagnosis for the medical profession to try and departmentalise certain symptoms.

Now you need to really consider your paranoia and what its effect was on your every day life. Did you think, for instance, that people could hear your thoughts but you continued living your life as if they couldn't? This is entirely within the boundaries of an aspergic person with OCD etc. Your perceptions about the CIA being after you is quite a strong feeling of paranioa but it doesn't necessarily dicate that you have schizophrenia. However, I do understand your doctors (perhaps misconception) conception about you having schizophrenia.

My best advice to you is that you express your concerns to the professional who originally diagnosed you. If you took the decision to stop your meds then it is important that you go to such a meeting armed with information about aspergers and specific information relating to your current state of affairs and to your childhood. Run through the Specific DSM IV criteria relating to aspergers. You might find it helpful to read more about what each criteria specifically relates to before you can do this.

If, as I said earlier, the meds were your decision then you have to expect them to request you to continue medication. A good doctor would not prescribe meds lightly. I do not know about your doctor.

The first thing you need to do is remove any stigma you have about any condition you may have, whether it be schizophrenia or aspergers. Then look at the evidence yourself and take that evidence to your doctor.

Yes, I did feel the CIA was really after me.

I no longer see the original doc that diagnosed me - insurance change. I fired my last psychiatrist and refuse to go back to that centre.

There's no psychiatrist in a 50 mile radius that will take my case. I am having a neuropsychological exam done on the 24th of this month. I suppose he can diagnose me?

My general doctor knows I stopped my meds, but I have also fired him. I am looking for a new one, since I need my Ativan and Klonopin and he keeps saying "You need a psychiatrist, you need a psychiatrist" over and over again, and it's a hasshle for him to write the scripts.

Kind regards,
Chris

Diversity is good, and what else exactly can't we have with it?

You can't have schizophrenia and aspergers according to the DSM-IV-TR.

Kind regards,
Chris

Of course, because your mind is not split.

Irrelevant comment to Quincunx: I love your username! The pattern of dots on the "5" side of a dice, or any such pattern like that. Awesome. :)

Oh, boy. Do we ever have interesting thought processes?

Heh, thank you. It fascinates me as well. I want to be the first to solve the most famous math problem of all time.

Kind regards,
Chris

Jason, wikipedia is a great source. I suggest you use it once in awhile. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/quincunx .

Riemann hypothesis is the math problem I am speaking of.

Kind regards,
Chris

I don't see that. I do use Wikipedia, but I don't know what you are talking about.

You're welcome. I jumped up and down for a week after finding that word out. :D
Reimann Hypothesis: Is that the prime-number one? Forgive my ignorance. I'm not a mathematician.
