I used to go to a pentacostal church as well, I was even baptized. I liked the happy songs. But never understood about the hands raising, that part put me off so I ignored it. I had the illusion to feel God as well, I miss that. I had trouble with the noise, the emotionality and chaos of the services. They had a problem with my Gender Identity Disorder past, my AS was not discovered then. Also fitting into a group is too much to ask of me, although groups of Christians are better to handle than other groups.
Not all Pentecostal churches are like that. My church is very accepting.
I don't raise my hands. For one, I can feel them when I raise them and it distracts me. For another, my spiritual experience doesn't happen in my physical body, it happens in my spirit. Maybe it is different for NTs?
The noise and activity gets to me and makes me uncomfortable, distracted and sometimes upset.
I go to church, the people talk to me (and some even like me I think but I can't tell for certain) but as for being part of a group, that doesn't really work for me. I am not social. I do talk to some of the people, though. Several of the ladies at church work with autistic children, so they understand a little better. That helps.
