My obsession used to be Sainsbury's. Now that obsession has since crashed (like a stock market for example would crash) and left a big sad hole.

I guess my closest thing to an obsession - or maybe more appropriate to think of it as a strong interest - would be AS.

I've been obsessed with proper Double Decker Buses, since my first trip to Victoria, BC that I took with my Preschool, when I was five. That trip took place, in the Early Spring of 1980.

I have a perplexing new obsession that has to do with Hippies. I'm obsessed with becoming a Hippie. It depresses me to think about it, because I fall out of my Groove, when I get angry at somebody. I was really close to becoming a Hippie, after my parents were out of town, for five days, just this past Spring. I couldn't help it! I was living life at my own pace.

<--------Looking at proper Buses makes me feel Jolly inside. They are always in my reach. I have lots of model toy Buses.

Looking at Hippies makes me feel as though something is out of reach, so it depresses me.

The following are my obbsessions catigorized in the age range of which i experianced them, as well as the duration of several of them.

AGE 1-2-3-4-5
Lego- building lego, then using it to create my own world which i would play for probably 30% of the day (has recently become a renewed obbsession due to finding some on the floor, have spent 400 dollars on it in the past 2 months)

Teenage mutant ninga turtles- by age 5 I had seen every episode of that show atleast 5 times-in my fantacys i was always krang the evil brain

STAR trek tng- watched from age 5 to present up to 3 episodes a day, built lego into startrek models for hours on end, obbsessed primarlily on the entity Q who possesed absolute power to do as his amagination chose.

AGE 6-10
Cooking multi-course meals like a chef on tv does (continued till present)
powerrangers, lego, sword fighting with my one friend (who ive later realised was more of a tool than a friend)
most of my obbsessive time was spent in a fantacy world, walking back and forth having conversations with people i made up in my head, many of these characters i still converse with when i find myself board, or see something that triggers a made up memory from the fantacy world.

10-15 i obbsessed over my fantacy world, and biking and skiing because they were sports that didnt include rules or balls of any kind, and i didnt have to play with others, i was rather reclused during these years, almost to the point of obbsessive hermatism

At age 15 i lost my virginity and instantly became obbsessed with physical feelings, such as orgasam, and the effects of drugs and elcohol, causing me to become obbsessed with sex and drugs
many people wouldnt complain about that, and i didnt for most of the time because tripping out and screwing seemed great at the time but my obbsession over one drug almsot killed me. when that occured it spurred a break in the obbsession and i am now able to stay clean and sober, however i am still obsessed with lego, sex, my own fantacy world, and cooking over elaborate meals even when no one else but me will eat it.

at one point i became obbsessed with music (of the classic rock and metal nature) and this has continued to be my largest and most influential obbsession, however it has not interfered with that many things as music can be background noise, however i do have a tendancy to talk during a song then snap on the person responding back to me during the song because their voice interferes with the auditory intergration of the song into my head

May as well do something while I'm here. The things I've been obseesed with in the past have been mostly trains and cricket, although both of these interests have died down (so much for that expensive train set my parents got me!). Now my main interest is my story, called Outcast (how ironic). Just in case you didn't want to know, I've had my story since I was eleven (so that's about five years ago now), and I've been typing it up recently (it's 65,000 words long fo far!). The neat thing is that it'll be a bit difficult to annoy the heck out of my friends because I can always update the story and share new content (but that still leaves room to annoy them due to the subject, of course).

Other interests include Music, Movies and Games (an old obsession, I could squeeze in 6 hours of gaming on a school day!). But that's actually mainly because I'd like my story to be made into movie, and maybe get a few games as well. That'll be unlikely, but we'll have to wait and see what happens, won't we?

Hardcore (Music, not the pr0n)
Techno
Trance

I used to be COMPLETELY obsessed with Happy Tree Friends, but I was an idiot, so yeah. :P

I seem to differ from most AS individuals with regard to obsessions. My obsessions change from year to year. As I child of 10, I spent an entire summer going through the dictionary finding every possible word that you could make out of the letters “I’m a Shelter helper”. It was a national competition. I didn’t win.

Currently I’m obsessed with genealogy and tracing my family history.

Last year it was analyzing my dreams.

Next year it will be something else …

The one obsession that has lasted all my adult life is films. I better close now as I must visit my local video store and rent my next film to watch.

Cats and animals in general

Art (this is a fairy new one, only the past couple of years)

The weather

computers, that one's waning a bit now

mythology, especially Greek

I'm not sure of the difference between an interest and an obsession.

I work on two 'heritage' steam railways here in the UK. Interested in the practical side, not number-crunching.

I love Alfa Romeo cars although I've just sold my classic

Rock and indie music, and searching for rarities on eBay. I own about 500 CD albums.

Rowland Emett cartoon books.

Real ales.

WP.

Cats.

Narrowboats / canals. I'm saving up for my own 'liveaboard' boat which I will share with a black cat.

My obsession is knowing how things work. It started small with individual subjects, then when I'd learned everything I could without going in-depth, I'd move on.

Been through literally dozens of subjects now, I'm the kind of person that knows a fairly decent amount about a lot of things. Never really settled on one particular obsession for too long though, unless you count my lifelong obsession as being with everything, and then you'd just have to say I've got one big obsession.

Politics
Civil Liberties
Films/DVDs
