Sensitivity to sound is fairly common for ASpics. I can't stand the sound of static, or sometimes the sound of a radio on at low volume. My wife doesn't 'get' why it bothers me. Welcome to the boards, and please be advised that some posts are from bots that the mods run as an inside joke on newbies.

Erm, are you a honest to goodness Photoshop guru genius expert?

I use it, but I told a friend it's like I bought a brand new Ferrari and drive it back and forth to the grocery store!! !!

am I a photoshop genius? er nope. I have to admit that I am a Corel Chick. It's what I had to use when I taught high school. I used Adobe products in high school and college. IMHO, Adobe is getting to be like Microsoft. There are some adobe products that I am dying to purchase.

Oh well, I'd hoped to get a few pointers. The books written about Photoshop rank right up there with Chinese Calculus. (At least for me.)

OMG, I know what you mean. I enjoyed learning flash until I found out there was MATH in it! LOL...variables? Wha? I just want this to go here and jump like this! Accckkkkk.....so I just use the basic software like Swish.

Personally I have found hardly any difference (ducking if there are Adobe folks in here) in the two softwares other than price. For what I want to do, it's fine!....but another reason I use Corel Photopaint or Corel Painter (which is awwwwwsome, btw) is bc Adobe didnt' get their butts in gear for the big intel Mac conversion. So a LOT of graphic designers with new Macs are like ultra pissed. I refused to hang in the gallows and wait, so I went back to Corel. No biggie.

Now, I really just get in there and click on everything I can get my mouse on as far as Photoshop goes. That's the way I learn. When I get to something that doesn't work for me, then that's when the pdf HELP files are broken out.

I will link to my gallery in a bit....

Thanks, interested to see it. I like to use Photoshop to "paint" collectable cars. I take a pic of an old Corvette and run it through filters until it looks like an oil painting. I get a lot of guys complimenting me. My wife always says "Another car?"

I'm self-taught in Photoshop, and did just what you said. I'd take a pic, and click on something I'd never clicked on before, and see what happened. Takes a long time to learn, but it works.

BTW, like yer portrait ! !
