BTW what is wrong with anime? It is an art form. I am not really into it, but I don't think liking it is abnormal.

Wouldn't say it's abnormal but outside of Japan it is an acquired taste.

BTW Becky , welcome to wrongplanet! :D

And about anime, I don't know, I used to like it at some point until I more or less discovered its fan base. But interest in anime was dying at that time anyways, so BLEH. Don't like how the comic books read from right to left

I know this sounds weird, but you know what I mean. Although I have Aspergers I feel like I am somewhat "normal". For example, I am not into anime, I am not a dork, I look normal; basically, I have all the problems associated with Aspergers, but nobody would look at me and think that I was strange. Just curious if anyone else out there with Aspergers thinks of themselves as "normal".

I guess I should add that I havent always been this way, its taken a lot for me to start to understand what society expects of me, basically I have conformed to that standard. In other words, people used to think of me as strange & weird.

I think you're buying into a stereotype, I think you'll find that most Aspies are how you describe yourself.

* I never got into anime, but I'm not adverse to it
* Never been a dork/geek
* I can actually be read as an extrovert, and I think I'm into fairly normal things

Well, should asperger people not try to be proud of themselves, instead of fighting who is less abnormal?

I don't imply that it was the original intent, but well.

And being a dork/geek is not disability.
There are many NT 'dorks'.

I think if your asperger syndrome does not hinder your life, then it's not a disability.

Talking about me, well, I am perceived as 'normal' by some people, and abnormal by others.

Normal can't really be applied in general to a human being, because all of us are unique and different.

There are some cases where two people seem similar, but there will always be differences.
