i've just started running (and i mean "just" - two weeks now), and so i'm still on the "run for a minute, walk for 3" bit. it's MURDER! mind you, smoking doesn't help. i've been exercising aerobically for a while now, and my muscles think running is a great idea, but my poor old lungs tell me to sod right off after a minute or so. what a trauma. the only thing which keeps me going is the thought of having a fag when i get back... ;)

I try to go running each day, but that's because I'm still in high school and it's summer. I can't stand just sitting around and doing nothing but stay at home and watch t.v. and eat all day; running gives me some freedom in the summer so I don't feel so boxed up. I have been running for 3 years, since 7th grade. Running is hard, but it is sure worth it; I have also been running in races this summer, which is also fun since I get to be with other runners and see what kind of time I could get with pushing myself hard.

when I was at school I was complete rubbish at every sport there was but I ran in the cross-country team. I was still no good and always finished well down the field but I just used to like running through muddy fields.

just recently I was in five-a-side football game (soccer) which somebody filmed on a camcorder. Looking at the film I understood why I never got picked when I was a kid, I thought I looked really wierd, I look odd when I run and seemed to spend most of the time running up and down hoping someone would pass the ball to me. Scored a few goals though.

I hate running. I always dreaded that part of physical education in school. Everytime we would be forced to run laps around the football field, I would have to stop and walk because of cramps in my side. "Haha! Look who's coming in last again!"

Someone told me way back then that side stickers are from some kind of nutritional deficiency, but I never bothered to find out what. I just don't run.

I love to run...but I love to smoke...these two past times do not bode well for each other.

I've never been much of a speed demon, except for the sprint at the end of the race. My coach always says I have too much left at the end, although sometimes I could just go the speed, but sometimes it is what the coach is saying. I know one person at my school who's a speed demon: his name is Jake Hanson, and he's the school's best sprinter. He goes to nationals and stuff too during the summer. He's a really good speed demon.

Supposedly I run in a funny way as well.

I used to enjoy it, however my knees have not appreciated it too much ;)
That and I'm flat footed. Bicycling is so much better :)

I don't think I've ever enjoyed running for the sake of running. Though I did enter the 400m at the sports carnivals my school had. In my last year of primary school, for PE (physical ed) we did laps of the football oval (and yes it was an oval), I was the pack leader for nearly all 10 (i think it was 10) laps. My teacher suggested I join his running squad that he had somewhere. Being the self conscious person that I was/am I declined...

I kick myself everytime I recall that, I should've accepted his offer... Who knows where'd I'd be now... and what kind of physical condition I'd be.
One of my life's biggest regrets (in fact probably the only one)

I can't run. Boobs too big. Very uncomfortable.
I used to love it as a kid, though.

Today I had the best track meet ever: I broke my 3200 meter time (2 miles) from 12:55 to 12:45; a huge leap in my opinion! It was really hard, no doubt, but I really enjoyed it and I pushed myself really hard. Then I had pizza, and this I think this is probably the best way to end the season, with a PR and pizza afterwards at my house. I probably put the calories back on, but I guess what the heck. I thought it was awesome since I was going through this tough time from being really sick for a couple weeks, then my body had to recover (which was a month or two ago); I was running slower for a long time, but now I shattered my lifetime best. Good stuff.

I run 5 km every day, rather in the morning but most often in the evening. I average about 22-25 minutes, but I generally don't time myself, because I have always hated competing, even with myself. ;)
Also I often stop and do Taiji or something else. Train fine control of my muscles.
I always walked and ran funny when I were younger, but I think I've gotten over that, and furthermore, I don't care what people think.

Aspiegirl2: Your time there is really good, congratulations! :)

Renaeden: You can't get a good sports-bra, perhaps?

Eamonn: you should go out though, it's cheaper (free), and gives you fresh (mostly) air, nice sceneries and terrain training that you can't really fake at home.

Furthermore, if anyone thinks it's a nuisance to get sweaty (like me), go to the nearest sport store and ask for "Under Armour" and they'll sort you out. ;)
