Hi from over in the UK.

Sounds very nice where you are. All I can see out of my window are rows of terraces houses. I am 30 and have only just joined the dots in realising that I am almost certainly on the spectrum. It is something I am finding very tricky to make sense of and deal with but it amazing to find so many people here who are able to understand so much about me and I too am hoping to make some friends here who might help me through these strange times.

I notice you are also interested in physics - I bet if we pooled resources on this forum we could have things like dark matter sorted out in weeks :)

Connecting those dots is certainly an interesting journey, if nothing else.. I frequently have mixed feelings about my "AHA!" moments when I connect a dot.

Terraced houses.. Ugh. That was the one big thing I didn't like about Northern Ireland, as well as Dublin.. though once you get out in the country it was quite nice. Do you live in a big city?

It is very nice to have access to others who "Get it" .. :-)

I think if us aspies managed to pool enough of our collective information, and find a way to organize it efficiently, we could solve a lot of the world's problems. :-)

If it helps at all, my diet is gluten-free, I avoid using dairy products, and I am mostly vegetarian. Believe me, this certainly makes coming up with edible meals interesting.. even more "fun" when going out for food. ;-)

There are things I avoid due to texture.. and concentrated tomato seems to cause me issues also

Yeah...the whole "food issues" thing does seem to run the lines of AS individuals in one form or another!

I have a problem with lactose and fructose. Fructose is the biggest pain because it covers such a variety of things, and no one can even come up with a standard list of what to avoid! It is almost a "try and see" process of working out what does the most damage...

Mostly vegetarian is also up there. I don't have too many sensory/texture issues but I used to have to eat all my food seperately and now I can't eat anything on it's own...! That sounds weird but it is even stranger to watch a girl try and fit a bit of everything that's in a bowl onto her spoon/fork.. ;-) Oh, and I have a compulsion to add spinach to every meal I eat, but I think those are a bit of OCB.

There are a lot of vineyards around here too. We don't get a lot of American wine in Australia.

I know the feeling. and sometimes..I just plain old forget... I hate that I forget but it comes down to the whole "out of sight out of mind" thing with some Aspie's. Plus I get distracted really easily

Oh no! That means it's too late for me to get down to Chiloquin this season. :-( I guess I'll just be happy that I made it for a few days during the summer... I'd really like to go stay down there when it's snowy though.

Thanks! I am not sure where Chiloquin is... I wouldn't be surprised if it is a hop skip and a jump from me and I not had a clue lol :)

I'm still not certain where you are exactly.. Chiloquin is on the Sprague River, it's about a 20 - 30 minute drive to the Crater Lake rim... maybe it's 20 minutes to Mazama Village actually.

It's 40 minute due north of Klamath Falls, OR.. Hopefully that helps. :-)

Ah right lol... that it does help :)

I work 45 minutes away from Crater Lake's rim - Mazama village. Beautiful area there! I suppose I am a bit zipped on my actual location. But the town where I work and where I live - it would be so simple to locate me... so I am a bit paranoid... sorry!

I totally understand, there are plenty of weirdos around.. fortunately, you are pretty far out in a rural area it sounds like. I don't like divulging too much.. there is a reason I don't have a Facebook page. ;-)

I have a facebook page... but I don't use it much and I share it only with friends and have it blocked to friends of friends. I only keep it because my sister likes to talk to me there.
