And what's the etiquette on letting your neighbours know that you can hear them having sex???

Brings back some bad memories of my old apartment. Eventually I had to say something. The gist of it was 'These walls are very thin and, while I would much rather not, I can hear just just about everything y'all do, including your, uh, intimate moments.' It kind of freaked them out and they moved a few months later. Lost some potential friends but gained some piece and quiet. Oh well, life is a compromise.

Sound sensitive? My mother always thought I was joking or something because I made her pull out all the cords from electrical appliances in the house when I was going to bed. The highpitched constant noise from a muted television or even a television turned off drives me nuts. I can't do earplugs though, absolute silence scares me.

I am extremely pleased someone else can hear the high pitched sounds of tv's and I hate those high pitched rodent removers. They nearly have me running around the walls. I am not a rodent I promise.

I am hypersensitive to noise and can easily be driven almost screaming crazy by repetitious noises. Although, it's not just any noise, only certain types of noise that bother me - with music that I like, I turn it up full volume, but if I hate it, even the faintest background noise will send me up the wall.

I haven't been using earplugs in public because it seems so strange to others. I wish I could get over that. I have my ipod with me at all times, though. I turn up the volume until the irritating noises are gone, or at least blended in. I don't have as bad a problem with appliances as some of you, except the fridge... the buzzing sound when it starts is just awful. I just don't get how some people are able to just ignore hese things.
