Well, it's just a fact that people are better than you at some things, and you are better than them at some things.

That is a Dashboard widget that lets you resize the picture in Dashboard, which gives you control over pixels. Then you should be able to just upload it from your machine in your WP profile page.

Thank you all for the advice.

I wonder if your woeful lack of computer experience has anything to do with why your introductory post was somewhat better written than the average introductory post around here.

Anyway, welcome to WrongPlanet forums!

Can someone explain why that is? It seems that on the internet (teh intranet) that people make it a point of honor to suck at spelling. What's up with that? And if I see one more person use the phrase "uber pwnage" I will beat their face with a shovel if I can find them.

I come by my poor spelling legitmately, brain glitch or some form of dyslexia.I try and use the goggle ABC spell check but it does not seem to understand punctuation and high-lites word groups, instead of individual words,(OK,to hard to explain)

I think the majority of the spelling errors you are seeing on-line are....it's "cool" to be a spelling rebel....."dude,you have no right to tell me how to spell a word....You are not the BOSS of my spelling",(mentality)and....what until the next generation of text-messagers take over the world........URNforAreeltreet.......

My spelling is seriously bad. Worse part is I know most times it's mispelled and I find spell check so frustrating. If I take the time to correct as I go, my brain is 8 miles ahead of my fingers and I get lost. Typing, cut, copy, paste has been a huge help. Forget writing in script, I have to print, but can do it almost as fast as most that use the other. If I have the time or need to do some serious writing I do get it on word perfect and do the corrections. The trauma of being able to tell a b from a d is one I don't care to remember. If I can get a comma in the right place, I feel it a victory.

The mispelling in the gaming world got on my nerves sometimes. I wouldn't mind it if I was fairly sure they had an understanding of what it should look like to begin with and had a strong feeling with some they didn't know. You instead of u, late instead of l8 and so on, could make me nuts if I let it. The nice thing in the last online game I played was for the most part they didn't rag on the kids for it. The game I played before that, it felt like the spelling police were every where, not fun at all. The one thing I would get after them about would be if they mispelled the F word on purpose, or other words in the same theme. The swearing filter might not pick it up and I let them know if they wanted to swear, spell it right. People have a right not to read it if they don't want to. Besides if you're fighting a l33t monster and you take the time to spell check, you gonna die. That's why we used voice.

I'm actually very good at spelling. A couple of years ago I was on a national TV spelling competition for the BBC.

What I'm taking about is more about how they try to spell poorly. They have certain rules for misspelling words it seems like. 4=A 3=E the=teh leet=l33t and so on. I keep hearing about l33tspeak, why the heck do they do it though? It's as annoying as a howler monkey with a megaphone that's been trained to sing opera.

It's not anything about me not trusting you. It's just that I have a very unusual name and if anybody I knew saw what I posted it they would probably be able to trace it back to me and at this point I do not feel like having my acquaintances know about my AS. Just call me W (I hate that other W).

Im 20. I'm male. I'm a college student. I'm new to this. And I have a confession to make. I am very bad with computers. Yeah, I know, a 20 year old Aspie who doesn't know computers. I blame my parents for that. I never had very much computer access during my first 18 years and I was homeschooled for a good portion of that. Now that I am in school I have computer access but I have very little idea how to use them compared to even NTs my age. So please be patient with me about technology, I'll learn it, but my starting line is miles before almost everyone elses.

Not a problem whatsoever you not revealing your name. As a general rule I don't reveal my name on the Internet unless I know exactly who I am talking to in person. As for the computer illiteracy, don't be concerned and as someone said earlier, there is plenty of help in the IT thread.

Welcome to WP.
