Welcome to WrongPlanet! I'm glad you found us. I found out about Asperger's (now autism) when I was 57 - when a friend referred me to this site. I found a place where I fit in, where others understood me, and their lives made sense to me. That was the point where I began to build a life that was good for me - once I knew what the problem was! Actually, I went around for a while demanding my money back from Whoever Runs This Insane Universe. But then I did begin to build and it's better, much better. You have arrived! :D

I'm 49, and I was diagnosed just a few years ago, after years and years of believing in my childhood misdiagnosis of what they used to call "hyperactivity." In all honesty, I had begun suspecting I was an Aspie after my daughter was diagnosed as autistic five years ago, which spurred me on to get myself diagnosed. If anything, knowing I'm an Aspie has given me peace of mind, and has helped me make sense of my life.
Incidentally, I am also a father (obviously, as I have a daughter  ), and have a beautiful wife.
