The only time I went to Manchester was that gaming convention thing near the hell hole called the Trafford centre. Loved the tram, nice to see a bit of graff here n there too, welcome to WP. I don't post much.

Sorry didn't see your post I suck at forums. I don't use instagram, not fond of pictures honestly.
We have some nice cons up here yeah, they are usually cheaper than the London ones so I go if I can.

I hate the Trafford center. It's really hard to get to and usually full of chavs lately. They do some nice food in there though.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, I like the retro fashion of steampunk. I prefer how men in the Victorian era had longer hair and dressed more smartly. I also liked how women used to wear dresses - not a popular view these days perhaps, ha ha.

I'm glad you might like to meet. I don't know when I'll next be in Manchester. Meeting a group might be good. I like films and restaurants, can't think of any other meeting venues. Let me know if you have any ideas. I'll try to send you a message when I'm invited to stay in Manchester again. :)

Welcome to WP! It's cool to see an artistic retro steampunk fan join :p What sort of graphic design do you do? I've been trying to get better at drawing myself, but I go way to slow with it.

Hello from The States.

Fellow craftsperson and eBay seller.

I await diagnosis. Glad to hear that you were able to get one.

Good luck in all you do!

I used to be really into steampunk but now I'm more into dressing like a 'witch' I guess. Long skirts, moon necklaces and crystal pendants, purple hair and many jeweled accessories. Mostly dark and mysterious outfits, I plan to grow my hair to my bum just so I can plait it. Nothing too cliche though, I like to try to be unique as copying others makes me feel off.

Normally up here we do things like metal pubs and gaming conventions, or vegan bars as one of my friends is vegan. I kind of wouldn't mind going Vegan as well after watching the Cowspiracy documentary, completely changed my outlook.

I totally understand the love for the old Victorian things though. Pretties. Back when I used to be heavily into that I had a bit of an Emilie Autumn binge going on, met her a couple of times but I don't fangirl it like a lot of victorian-industrial people do.

But yes, meets are cool if you fancy it just send me a PM nearer to the time, it emails my phone. :)

Heyo, thank you. :D Yeah I need to get back into drawing as well as I'm out of practice. It's a skill, if you don't keep it up you get crap at it I guess. I normally just do web design graphics and advertising things, banners for stuff and social media graphics.

I'd use this but apparently WP no likey image signatures. :| What kind of drawing are you into?

Aww thank you. What kind of stuff do you sell? I'm a generalist but eventually I'd like to get into import/export with a friend.

I sell tools, mostly of the woodworking variety and commercial salvage, mostly industrial plastics.

I also sell some of my craftwork / wood carvings.

Ah awesome, whittling? I fancied doing that but I'm kind of hopeless with stabby things and end up stabbing myself by accident. It takes a lot of skill to craft with wood so that's very cool. :)

Somehow this reminds me, you can make a decent profit on plumbing tools and parts, I was looking into that the other day lol.

Yeah I stopped drawing for a while and when I recently started I was like "omg I can't draw anymore". The only thing I really am any good at drawing atm is actually mlp fanart :p I've always been better at photography than drawing though. Do you ever draw with one of those drawing tablets?

That's cool that you do web design stuff, I've been trying to get into doing web design stuff myself actually. I've made a few websites but I want to learn how to do things better. I'd actually like to be able to do web app type stuff too.

No images in sigs here is really annoying. Honestly the forum software here is pretty bad, but it's a good community...

Welcome AsahiPto. I'm from East Anglia but my God parents lived in Stockport! Hope you enjoy the forum - I've talked with a lot of lovely people here. I think it's a really supportive friendly place.

Jo

Welcome from a fellow wearer of sunglasses! A few months ago I was waltzing between the aisles of tesco with my shades on due to those vicious fluorescent death tubes they have called 'lights' and this woman asked me if it was sunny, I said no it's much worse!

@Riik that is a very strange coincidence, lmao. Where abouts in Stockport are you? I normally get the 192 to town to escape the place. :p

The most exact I'm gunna be on an open forum like this is to say that I'm from the Reddish/Heatons (north-west) area.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if I know you now lmao, I bet you went to Reddish Jail like me lol!
Duuude that is weird. It's like no one is ever from Reddish then this happens. XD

I didn't specifically say Reddish, but I'm not going to say I'm not from Reddish either, given how easily this site is to find on google. But I've never been to jail so there's some divergence there XD.

Reddish Vale, school for derps. It earned that nickname after they put that giant fence around it.
I'll PM you. :P

Ah, ok, fair enough. XD... I've never heard that nickname.

I have! but not seen it :)
