I don't drink alcohol very often. I really only like the taste of red wine, but I am histamine intolerant...it makes it hard to enjoy it in the end.

I'm not a drinker. Frankly, to me, alcohol tastes terrible. Beer, wine & liquor - blecch. To be perfectly honest, that's reason #1 why I don't drink alcohol. Reason number two being the price.

I'll admit the prices can be unfair. I don't drink in restaurants because it's an absolute rip off.

But it's not so bad in grocery stores. I can get a bottle of my favorite wine for under $5 in some places. I like pretty much love any type of wine, but my favorites are the sweeter varieties, like Riesling and White Zinfandel.

No, but I've had one glass of wine and it didn't seem to affect me much.

I am allergic to beverage alcohol and after a long story that I won't get into here, I confronted that issue with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous and have been sober for over two decades.

I mention this because being AS does not preclude us from diseases like alcoholism. So, I guess you could say, I drank obsessively and now I have broken that obsession by remembering to not obsess over it, everyday.

I wish the same for anyone else that thinks they may have a problem.

I like my real ale (these range from anything from 3.5% to 6% usually) and real cider (7%!) when I can get it which isn't very often but to be honest I don't care for wine. Spirits (all spirits) are absolutely disgusting due to prior misadventures; the smell of vodka and orange makes me want to puke these days.

I hardly ever drink.

Maybe Communion wine at church, but the medicine I take
for my depression and anxiety does not go well at all with
alcohol, and I've gotten used to going without.

I drink alcohol because I enjoy the taste of beer and wine. I don't enjoy drunkenness and it actually makes my social skills even worse. So i drink, but not huge amounts.

I have drank alcohol before, but never been drunk. I don't really like the taste of most of it so rarely drink it. That's really the only reason though, I didn't actively make a decision not to drink or anything, I just don't particularly like it.

You were a lot nicer with your reply, then I'm going to be.

Just going to wait and see if the young troll comes back.

My family owns an Irish pub...so I partake...mostly cause I usually don't have to pay for it. Mostly just beer, but I have been trying some cocktails lately(our well vodka is an Irish one called "Boru"...probably made with potatoes).

I've never been comfortable drinking heavily though. I have successfully abstained a number of times...I've also successfully quit smoking a number of times. I guess I just don't have an addictive personality, or else I find it easy to keep such vices off of my mind. I don't, however, use that as an excuse...the old "I can quit whenever I want".

I have had wine at Communion at church, but that's it.

I don't drink. Never have, probably never will. It just seems like a waste of time.

That's as good a reason as any. :D

I pretty much drink because I like the taste, but there's no harm in getting a bit drunk occasionally if I'm just at home and know I wont put myself or anyone else in danger by doing it.

I'll admit that I'll never drink until I pass out however. I've learned the next day hangover lesson from my first time of doing that. Wine hangovers are particularly painful in my experience.
