Its Star Wars The Clone Wars (2002) for the Xbox,
I think the first mission you got to play as Mace Windu fighting his way through droid armies on Geonosis. I might be wrong about that though. I'm not sure if it was Palpatine, it was quite a long time ago and the details have been lost to time. I just remember that it was a lot of fun.

I never saw world devastators before, since I only play as the Corporate Sector Authority and usually I'm fighting the New Republic or Warlord Zsinj, I felt that playing as the empire would be too easy since I could build an Executor-class star destroyer and steamroll the AI opponents.

I see, how many playable characters are there in the Clone Wars game?

Yeah, the first time I saw the World Devastators was in Rogue Squadron, than I read the Dark Empire comics (I read all but the last book in that series.) which featured them, and portrayed them much differently than in the game.

If you want a hand with writing let me know. Ideas, whatever. I just finished a full-length light Catholic romance novel back in September and have been dueling with the editing process since. Right now Round 2 is fixing to start whenever I can get some school out of the way.

Quote:
Thanks, sounds like an interesting story you've got there.

I'm not sure if you can help me much with my fantasy trilogy as I don't have much of story posted yet anywhere. I do have a basic outline for a plot, but I haven't written down much apart from one unfinished chapter that has too many spoilers for me to post anywhere. Right now I'm just posting faction and character bios which you can see here, among other places: My Fantasy Trilogy: The Thief Trilogy

I have also started writing a sort of slice-of-life book series, which I plan on having sort of overlap with another, slice-of-life series whose theme and tone is similar yet different. Right now I just started typing at the prologue, my ideas for the plot on this one are very vague at the moment, just a few themes and events here and there. Like the fantasy trilogy, I also started working on another chapter that has a huge spoiler in it, but I plan on it happening in book 3, and sort figuring it out right now as I go along, what happens in between the prologue in book 1, and that chapter in book 3.
I forgot to mention I'm also planning on doing a sort if historical drama of a bit of the Catholic History of Canada, starting with the voyage of John Cabot and ending with Our Lady of the Cape's Miracle of the Eyes. I'll obviously need to do a bit more historical research first, before I start that but I hope to take off quickly once I do.

I'm not sure how many playable characters there were, you played different people based on the mission. Off the top of my head I remember, Mace Windu, Anakin, and Obi wan. And a quick google search tells me that's all the characters.

16 missions across six different planets. Oh, it seems the boss I remember fighting was an ancient Sith Super Weapon named the Dark Reaper that had been activated by Count Dooku.

I see, so you sort of switch back and forth between characters between missions and level each of them up?

A Sith Super weapon eh? Does Dooku/Tyranus pilot it or is it an AI that’s capable of channeling and using the Dark Side of the Force?

I guess action RPG was the wrong term to use, google search tells me the genre is action-adventure, there's no real leveling, you just play through the missions.

As for the sith superweapon, I think it's automated.

I see.

That interests me in Star Wars, elements like that that incorporate the Force. I’d like to see stuff like that, like an army of Stormtroopers that’s possessed by the Dark Side of the Force. Have you come across similar elements like that in the games you’ve played, and any books and comics you may have read?

If you like stuff like that, I think Star Wars: The Old Republic is up your alley, it's set in a time when both the sith and jedi were still very active, so a lot of force shenanigans. It's free and an MMO but takes up a crap ton of disk drive space and I've never really had the room to install it.

Thanks, though I probably won’t be getting that game, not only do I already use a lot of disk space, but I haven’t been playing video games in quite awhile now, I’m often busy with other stuff like university work and the like.

Interesting to know about though.

Well, we all have to move on from games at some point, or at least that's what my family keeps telling me. Still a ways to go for me, although I have stopped buying a lot of games since the fourth generation consoles came out, now I might buy a game every 2-3 months. Good luck with university work.

I have kind of the same issue with books, I often buy books quite often and have difficulty with money because of it. I have a lot of books with me and have read very few of them because I’m a slow reader. I am now trying to cut down as well, now I’m just sticking to books that will help me with my writing, like relevant history books to help me with my A Mari Usque Ad Mare book series.

Thanks for the encouraging words by the way.

I used to spend forever in the library when I was in school, read crap tons of books, yet I never entered those reading lists contests that had a prize, I just liked to read for fun, keeping records of what I was reading was not my idea of fun.

I kind of lost the habit in college, the fiction section of my school's library wasn't that big, they did have a much bigger non-fiction section, but I always enjoyed fiction more than non-fiction, I did take the chance to read a couple of classics, but my reading time was cut way down in college.

Yeah, I lost the habit too. (Albeit, my main problem, slow reading was still a problem back then as well.) In late high school early college, I found myself getting interested in ancient sources, like Julius Caesar’s Gallic War. That, combined with my issue of slow reading, which eventually spilled over to my non-fiction reading, ultimately led to me losing the habit. I am trying to regain it, and I think I am improving a bit on the speed at which I read, but again I still have other things like chores and college work that give me limited time.

I should probably just google it, and I probably will, but is Kootenay region near Northern Idaho? I live in Sandpoint, Idaho, a couple of hours south of Cranbrook. Beautiful area, except for the smoke from the wildfires in the summer that floats our direction!

I remember those fires!

Cranbrook is considered part of the larger Kootenay area, but I’m referring to the areas west of Cranbrook, specifically the area around the Columbia River. (hence the name) Although Nelson and the lower stretch of the Kootenay River which stretches from Kootenay Lake to the Columbia, is also considered by most I think, to be part of the region as well.

Hope that helps, I’ll clarify if you need more information.
