Okay, consider this: Based on who or what you think you are, are you mortal or immortal? Who is this "you" person anyway? For that matter, who is this "I" person?

"MrMark" is just an identity, a role, a mental construct with no real substance. It's not who I am. Is it any different for "Mark"?

the tea is poured from the pot into the cup,
the cup breaks and the tea is mopped up by the cloth
the cloth is wrung and the tea is still tea no matter how it is contained.

I am like that tea, flowing into what ever 'container' necessary.

Cruachan: so what you're saying is you feel your mind, thoughts, feelings somehow evolved into being contained in a body needing to fight for survival? Thats a pretty good theory if i do day so myself! :)

Yes, I think that's the point. A feeling of being put in a jar or awkward armor for protection. Many people don't have an idea what it's like...

I think the 'self' is not about a physical thing, a body, it's about some kind of a soul, who controls everything.
The job, relationships come from behaviours, words, gestures and they are inspired by thoughts. On the other hand, body is also controled by thoughts.

So it is like a big sphere of influence and it's hard to find who is the source of all this.

I'm inclined to believe everyone has a soul or spirit that will still be here after
our bodies are gone.I read an article recently about scientists investigating photographs from around the world where 'orbs' are appearing that can't be explained by tricks of the light etc.One tentative explanation is that camera shutters are now fast enough to view energy waves (spirits ?) that can't be seen by the human eye.

I'd rather say sensitive than spiritual. Feeling my body as a vehicle I'm driving comes from a sort of inattachment with it, as perhaps the result of atavistic memory flashbacks and inbreeding for thousands of years (i. e., a Neanderthal soul in modern shell).

I am born,
I am me,
I am new,
I am free,
Look at me,
I am young,
Sight unseen,
Life unsung...

It's just a label we use for convenience's sake.
