Remember, it could always be worse. At least she didn't dump you for the man she'd been dating for six months...

And there are jobs out there in which AS can be a positive benefit. For instance, I had one temp job I kind of wished had become permanent, doing inventory in a food warehouse. I got to count things all day, and only had to talk to people three or four times during the day. They needed someone who was good with details, and didn't mind working alone.

For an office job, maybe you could point out that some of the biggest management seminars out there are dedicated to teaching executives to think "outside the box", using nonlinear reasoning - in other words, exactly in the wheelhouse for an Aspie!
