@SilverProteus: That's nice. I personally don't like Delhi though, there's something about Khadi Boli that annoys me...can't understand why. Nice pot though, and the weather's definitely much better than it is here, down south.
I hear ya on the weather. I never had ACs in the summer (mom gets reactions when they're turned on) and having to put up with an extremely humid 40+ degree Celsius day under the fan is no fun.
I regret I've never been south though. I would've liked to have travelled more while living there, if only my father liked to travel.
It goes as high as 45 C here during summer. I too don't use AC's, I fall sick very fast when I turn them on. Fell sick twice in two weeks when I went to Dubai last time! D:
The south sucks. Not worth visiting, although Kerela's alright. Dehra Dun = closest you can get to paradise, in my opinion.
@larsenjw92286: Depends. You can expect 40% of those who have been educated in English medium schools to be fluent, 50% speak good English, and 10% can communicate. However, only the middle classes and upper classes send their children to English medium schools. The poor rarely speak English, and most of them don't send their children to school. Those who do go to school usually go to a school that teaches them in their language, as they're government run and don't charge a fee, plus free textbooks. However, there are exceptions - the boy my dad's hired to wash the cars speaks English, good enough to communicate with. He spent all the money he earned on school and is currently going to college.
As for people around me...all my friends (few that I have) and classmates (except one) speak fluent English, although their typing is typical internet gibberish.
Also, the government's statistics on poverty levels are incorrect. Apparently, those families who earn less than $6 per month per head are considered below poverty line, and make up approximately 30% of the population. In my opinion, 70-80% of the population is below the poverty line. 45% is completely illiterate.
