Dear toonaspie,

If you realise you might have AS and thus are on this board you're not bound for a dead-end life. In fact you're far ahead on the learning curve compared to older people like me who went through hell growing up because nobody, including us, understood what was wrong.

I had a mental block about driving without knowing why and flunked a couple of road tests too. Got my licence at the normal age but when I went out on my own I got scared and didn't drive for eight years! A major roadblock (ha ha) to something approaching a normal social life.

Beyond that, I'll just second all the affirming stuff other people have posted for you.

Hello everyone, I am a struggling 22 year old female college student whose bound for a dead end life, especially since I cant drive a car. I make enemies easily and I have few friends who are willing to stick around and be non critical/judgmental of me. Of course I have yet to meet one person who ever thought anything good of me upon first meeting me. Such is my life. I thought about joining this group before but the massive amount of stuff, topics, and members intimidated me. Thought I'd give it a shot though.

Well, think of it this way: you're not adding to the pollution which motor vehicles contribute.

Oh, and don't feel intimidated the majority of the members here; they like to think of themselves as special, but in reality they're not, I'm afraid. :(

Anywho, welcome and Merry Crimbo. Feel free to talk to me on AIM or MSN.
