No problem... Ally puts things in ways that are easy to understand...and I identify with her very strongly

Hi there. I am new to this site. I was searching through some of the forum threads and ended up reading quite a few of the "Care and Feeding your Aspie" postings. They are awesome! Thanks to K.H. for writing these. Some of the parts were especially helpful and insightful. For example, I just finished reading Part 17: Aspies and Health Professionals. WOW! You have completely explained what's been going on and why things are so frustrating!! I think every doctor should read something like this when they have an AS patient. There should be some official, authorized document written by knowledgeable autism medical professionals for all medical professionals. If they better understood how we think and why we do the things we do, they could make simple yet effective changes that can help make the doctor-patient relationship one that is actually helpful and beneficial for both parties. It would reduce so much stress, frustration, and feelings of being misunderstood.

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you again. It was so insightful and has helped me see why there is often a breakdown in understanding and communication. I am hoping that maybe I can use this new-found understanding to make my doctor visits more useful and less stressful for both me and my doctor :)

Thank you very much for your praise. You have hit the nail on the head as to why I am doing this... to facilitate understanding of the Autistic Condition.

YOUR BLOG IS MY FAVORITE. I found out about Autism and Asperger's a week ago, and it has changed my life. Everything you've written makes so much sense to me. I'm sending this to my parents: maybe now they'll understand why I'm so weird!

Thank you.
This is my first post in these forums.
My 8 year old son was diagnosed with Asperger's early last year. After seeing the similarities, my wife of 11 years and I realized that I to had Asperger's. It has made a tremendous difference in our relationship for the better as we began doing more research.
I found these forums today and this thread with your blog in particular. I got exactly 0 work done today as I was pouring over you blogs! I think I have gotten more insight to the difficulties that my son and I face through your blog then any of the medical articles I have come across yet. I'm sure it is because of your unique viewpoint.
Thank you.
