Since you enjoy hearing about my love life. I will tell you what happens in my days of founding love in life. It just nise to have someone Listen :D thanks

Well, you don't have to tell everything ;), just what you feel comfortable writing on a public forum. :)

And are others who busy in there lives to come back to WP. We might need to add different related Indian Aspie questions sometimes to this thread just like other forums with with there own question threads. But put the different questions in this thread instead. We might need to get people who are just looking though this thread to answer the different questions so they won't feel so shy and come out as some people don't know how to come into an conversation and what to say.
Hopefully the new person who just anwered yesterday will come back :)
but we should think of ways to bring others here to write. As we can't force them.

The number of views also indicates non-Indians, who peek in just out of curiousity. If they don't reply that is natural. If someone does not find what they are looking for here, I would really like to know what they are looking for. Then maybe I could do something about. It is difficult to guess what India-related questions could be, until you have come across a certain number of Indian aspies. They few ones I know, all have different issues. I have a big sensory overload issue, but jhomes doesn't face that at all, his problems are mainly social. I have a really hard time in the workplace, but Sabu (apparently) does not face much problem there. I'm just assuming because he has never mentioned it.
But your questionnaire idea is really good. I will try to contact the Indian aspies I know, and ask them what kind of questions we should have. Then I will get some ideas too. If you have any suggestions that would also be helpful.
You're right, some people might feel that they are barging into a conversation, and would feel shy to say something.

The internet is a true democracy, and it's a good thing that we can't force anyone. No. It's a great thing.

I know :) just the stuff that is appropriate for an open thread, i dont mine others seeing. as i hope others who read who are going though the same process as i am will can learn from me and understand there are other going though the same process too.. but if it is something that is kind of sad and dont want others to read it i will pm you about it, if you dont mine?

like i said before no one autisitc is the same just as no one snowflakes is the same. so all of us autistics in the world are just snowflakes falling from sky. me I am more like jhomes with little sensory proplems like feeling sand with feet, the feeling of the bottum of cermaic pots, the sound of sharping an kitchen knife, sraping of metal pot against the other. i cant even use metal cooking spoon with metal pots i hate the sound too with it touching. so i use plastic or silicone tools insead. Or if i make roti i cant knead dough and mix ingreadents the in metal pots with my hands so i knead it in a plastic pot. and people cant touch my neck. what are some your senory probleams Dhawal ? and i think the senory problem question would make a first good question for this thread.

we just have to look in universal point of veiw when asking question, we have touch one in to other in wide world of problems people face. even if you dont face the problems they do. i would suggest we talk about realtionship with parents, siblings, and other people in your family, workplace, love, college etc the list can go on for miles. on what quetions we can think of. what have you thought of so far? :)

it is grerat we have this freedom on the internet.
sadly you have some countries trying and do restrict internet use on it on it inhabitents . so they dont see true democracy
of the internet :(

My dear Jhomes :D :D ! !! !! ! :D :D
At last you make your grand entry in this thread! I've been waiting forever, but I thought you may have doubts about your english language skills, so you might not post here on WP. I'm glad I was wrong. In your honour I have also used bold letters (first time) in this thread :).
It is so good to have someone who is not just from my country, but also from my state !

So for Indian aspies, 'earth' is not the wrong planet, it is 'prithvi', right? :)

Isn't Lady-ivy just awesome! I'm so glad she discovered this thread. A 1/3rd Indian has contributed more to this thread than 100% Indians have! I see that your language skills have improved, and you are also more confident in using the language.

My estimate of aspies in India was based on the '1 in 300' ratio seen in other countries. Whatever you do for spreading awareness in India, I will be right there with you. I've said this before, but I just wanted to say it in a public forum.

And again, Welcome to the India thread!! !!
Gosh I'm so happy :tears:

My biggest sensory issue is noise. I can't handle the slightest noise, and here it is hell. I can't sleep at night because stray dogs are barking all night. There is great difficulty in focussing on work (I'm a web designer), because there are loudspeakers and vehicles honking and temple bells and metalwork shops and... it goes on. I forget what colour or design component I had in mind, and then it's all lost. I have to start over again. And if it is marriage season, there are even more loudspeakers. If there is some festival, the temples will have dhols and loudspeakers in addition to the bells. And there are so many festivals in India! The worst part is that you can't even complain, or they will call you anti-religious or even atheist! People are so sensitive about religion, but they have no consideration for other people's discomfort/annoyance. As I write this, there are fire-crackers bursting outside. 5000 marriages today, some auspicious day or something. What is auspicious for them becomes inauspicious for us. They are dancing and enjoying and they don't even care what state we are in :(.

Noise when you're working, noise when you're thinking, noise when you're taking a dump . This is another reason for not being happy when you come across aspies from India. Of course Jhomes meant that for another reason, not for sensory overload. God, it's been a long time since I've had a good rant. But this noise nuisance is beyond what I can handle.

In the visual sense, I find crowded places overwhelming. I can't find my direction. And I don't need to mention that India is an overcrowded country, especially in the cities. In my younger years when we went out, I found night lights very disturbing. Then, if there are looped animations on TV or computer screen, they distract me from what I'm watching or reading.

I'm not so sensitive to touch. I can wear casual or formal clothes, I'm not bugged by tags/labels in clothes. In my younger years I preferred to wear only one kind of clothes, but now it is not so. I'm not annoyed by hugs, that might be because in India hugs are not very common.

Earlier I was oversensitive to smell. If there was a social gathering with many people wearing strong perfumes, I felt like my nose was getting filled with chemical fumes. Since many years I have chronic sinusitis, and that has effectively solved the smell problem for me. Sometimes during the worst noise rackets, I start wishing I was deaf. But that wish is very short-lasted, because I love music and I can't live without it :). Because of my food sensitivity, I didn't like many vegetables and fruits during childhood. Now I'm not so selective anymore.

You guys would notice that some of my over-sensitivities have decreased over the years. I believe that many psychological and non-supportiveness issues were coupled with my autism characteristics. Since marriage, I've had a constant and unrelenting supporting mast. Because of it my psychological issues have nearly disappeared, and even the autism ones have reduced by a small degree. Throughout my (pre-marriage) life, my parents never understood my uniqueness and forced me to fit into the typical mould. They felt that they were doing it for my own good, but no good ever came out of it. It made my life worse and worse. I think some of my extreme autistic traits are a result of that. Some of them have reduced, some have not. This is the reason why I believe so much in aspies requiring/getting support from their families, friends, colleagues and social circle. I believe that we really could become and look so normal and happy, that people won't even see any idiosyncrasies in us. They'll only see our strengths. So many of the things I believe in are a result of my own experiences, mostly the positive ones. I guess that's the case with most people, but many draw more inferences from their negative experiences and start believing in bad things.

Wow, this is the longest and the most 'confessional' post I have ever made. I hope it helps some of the people, or at least someone is able to relate to it. Actually this is the kind of stuff that I want to write in my blog. But I need to figure out more about the material I will post, so that it doesn't come to a halt abruptly.

I studied in english medium school, and also had english literature as a subject in college (arts graduation). I didn't learn so much about literature :), but my english improved somewhat because of that.

There would be many websites for improving english skills and vocabulary (learning new words). You can try searching for that. You can also try reading english newspapers (paper or online).

But the best idea you gave in the end. why didn't I think of that. We can all try to use a little bit hindi, and see how the response is. Actually in the Indian aspie forums we can try that, using only hindi. What do you think about that idea?

That gives me another idea. How about writing an introduction to Aspergers syndrome in hindi? So many Indians who don't understand english well, they can benefit from it. I've studied hindi in school and college, and my hindi isn't half bad, I can use it. Even in the blog that I'm planning, I can make posts in both english and hindi, so that more people can read and understand it.

I even have proof, that many people are interested in reading hindi online. In my existing (general topic) blog, I made one post in hindi. That one post has a few thousand views, other posts have less than 50 views! It just shows that many people want to read hindi online, but there isn't enough hindi stuff on the net! What do you guys think, should we use a little bit of hindi from now on, or not?

hi Jhomes, It is nice to have you come back on worng planet. i work as an advocate, I heard you go to college. what is your major?

i can give you example in america. we possible think there are more adults in america who do not relize they have autism themselves. most things in america are focus into childern with autism not adults too. so chould even more asipes in India then most people relize. if you want to find them. it is also best besides the internet to find others with autism. is learn to figer out in real life who might have autism around you too. this takes pratice to figer out if someone might possible have autism by observing others. and befriending them

dont feel bad, your writing skills in english are great, i say yours is better then mine, and i am from a western english speacking place.

But I need to figure out more about the material I will post, so that it doesn't come to a halt abruptly.

i cried about this becouse this was so clear how you explain. that I was able to walk into your shoes and have the same pain that you go though. am thinking of ways to deal with this noice :chin:. were heavy headphones like these http://www.quietheadphones.com/ if you have not tried it for one. we use it for people who have bad serory probleams and it helps them.

thanks for using bold letters i like it.... :D

ok tell me how to improve my english?...do you know, i have very few words to use in writing thats my problem... :(

where you all learned this english that is quite different than my english!! ! :!:

still i'm using very basic english thats funny...ha ha ha...

 i think we all should write in hindi?

I studied in english medium school, and also had english literature as a subject in college (arts graduation). I didn't learn so much about literature :), but my english improved somewhat because of that.

There should be many websites for improving english skills and vocabulary (learning new words).

Even in the blog that I'm planning, I can make posts in both english and hindi, so that more people can read and understand it.

i think you should use one in hindi and one in english( for us enlgish specking aspies to understand) so i can help you guys out in India, it is good to have people from the west to help.

edit: i did not relize you said you are doing it both in hindi and english. now am doing facepalm  .
thanx for your suggestions...
i hope you all will help me....I've tried in some indian discussion forums and i got huge response in a one of those all forums but nobody have tried to contact me except one..... and about my english i have lack of vocabulary that i think main problem....i want to write some thread hindi so most of people can understand it, which i've posted on indian forums but even my hindi is bad 8O ....i know only GUJARATI :!:

 thinking to use HINGLISH=HINDI+ENGLISH :!:

I think some of my extreme autistic traits are a result of that. emotional kar diya yaar..thank God i have no sensory problems.. i hate only crowd...i prefer to stay away from them...is it necessary that every aspie have sensory problems??

bcoz i have all symptoms like difficulty in social interaction, poor motor skill like poor handwriting, fail to catch the ball, difficult to ride a bike, fix routine, narrow and strong interest areas, fail to read others emotions and even understand then fail to express, shy nature, don't like to on social gathering occasions like marriage, religious festival, party etc, can't talk much on phone

people get confuse by my talking with them....yesterday i just want say to my classmate have you got your gernal? but instead of using such a word i used word like i have given your gernal to your room partner named "Ronak" and he said me that he will give you that gernal and he got confuse and said "what??" :!:

chould youu order the right utensils from the Internet :)

Guyananess food some Indian influence in it. here is a reapie site http://guyanaoutpost.com/recipes/recipes_cat.shtml I do not know if this count as indian food as from india. but this is indo Guyaness thing which i whould love to make it buti dont have ingreadnets for becouse of were i live( i cant find it in stores. it is called Phulourie (Pulourie)
my fave food that i know how to make is chicken curry and roti.

i pm you about it already. but i suggesting people talk about there realtionship with familly. if it bad or good,

i feel so inspirational from you guys. can you count me in spreading awawerness in India, as i feel as a 1/3 indian who has anserstorty( as i feel some kind of connection) from there i feel i like can help as i much as i can. even if i am an american and i never been there. this will be the biggest project i have ever done :D. i sould look into spreading awawereness in guyana as it is in the same state of india in term of awaness

Ceramic/plastic/silicone/wooden utensils are available in India, but they are much costlier, and my mom and wife would not be very comfortable using them because they've always used metal utensils. Besides, compared to the other noises, the utensils noise is much less, so it's not really a priority issue for me.

Is this what you're talking about - http://www.inner-gourmet.com/2010/10/gu ... ourie.html ? From the recipe it looks like it would be delicious! So similar to Indian vadas (dumplings). And chicken curry and roti are like totally Indian. So yes, there's a definite connection.

The inspiration is both ways, more about it in my below post.

You have an uncanny ability to ask just the right questions to get information flowing from me. So many things I could never write before, I wrote while answering a simple question from you. That is how you inspire me.

You can show this to anyone you want. That's the reason I wrote it in a public forum, I want as many people to see this as possible, because this is unique to eastern countries. You won't find western aspies facing such problems.

I mentioned to you earlier that I have my own makeshift solutions, though not very effective. Many of them are similar to your suggestions, and they end up creating their own problems. But I'll write about that later. I'm already saturated by my 'confessional' post, and the continuous noise that was there yesterday. It will take a couple of days for the sensory overload to get over.
