Hi. First Post. This was the logical place to start.

What is your first name? Samantha

Favorite subjects: History, Nap time

Year/Grade: Freshman (college)

Favorite music: Pretty much anything

Clothing: thin, cotton, loose fitting (mostly tank tops and skirts), open toed shoes (even in winter, and I live in Wisconsin)

How did you find this website? Looking for a "Mozart and the Whale" trailer

Job: Historical archives

Plans for the future? World Domination and maybe a nap

What is your first name? Till

Age: 22

Location: London, UK

Hobbies and Interests:

To think about ... Physics and Astrophysics, Philosophy of Science
To do ... Astronomy and Photography

Why are you here? I think I have AS

When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed at ~6 with ADS, though not AS

Favorite subjects (in school): Maths, Physics. Never had philosophy, but I think I would have liked it.

Year/Grade: 2nd Year Undergraduate (Physics)

Favorite music: I feel quite strongly about a lot of music, but don't have any clear favorites, not even favorite genres, really.

Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide, Homo Faber (Max Frisch), 1984 and most dystopian science fiction that isn't too badly written.

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch much TV.

Instrument: Interferometer. No, really, I am not very musically talented.

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: I like cycling, both active and to watch

Family: My family is great, but I don't think I should go into details here without their knowledge

Clothing: Anything. I have been known to wear clothes the wrong way round or inside out, though I try not to.

How did you find this website? To be honest, I saw a thread on "Aspie relationships" on a mailing list, but I would have probably found it through google soon after that.

Job: Full time student, though I currently work on a summer placement and get paid. Not wanting to go out to get a "real" job anytime soon.

Plans for the future? Physicist.

Any comments? Embarrassingly, none.

What is your first name? Amanda

Age: 41

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, creative writing, hiking, taking university courses just for pure enjoyment.

Why are you here? I have several diagnosed learning disabilities. I am waiting for confirmation of a diagnosis of Asperger's.

Favorite subjects: Cultural theory and creative writing.

Year/Grade: I have a B.A. in General Studies. I'm slowly working toward an M.A. in Integrated Studies.

Favorite music: At the moment I like pop music from the '70s.

Family: Three children and a very loving extended family.

Clothing: I used to be overweight. I am slim now as a result of my love of long daily walks and hiking. I like to wear clothes that show off my figure, but nothing too revealing. I am 41 years old, afterall. I am not great at fashion sense. I have relied on other people to tell me what is appropriate or stylish. Consequently I tend to wear the same clothes and buy nothing new until I get advice or supervision in my shopping experience from those whose fashion sense I trust and admire.

Job: I have never been able to maintain employment. My learning disabilites create major obstacles. One reason I am paying money to get a full diagnosis of Asperger's is so that I can be placed in some sort of supported employment or given other necessary accommodation.

Plans for the future? I would like to write a book about my experiences as an Aspie.

Any comments? I hope that I can contribute to this forum and receive feedback so that I can interact with others who share my condition. I'd like support for those days when things go sideways, and hope to give such support to others.

Books: Neuromancer, High Fidelity, Fever Pitch, Last Tango in Aberystwyth.
