ohmygawd. it's 108F outside. we took our place off the market as of 5pm last friday.
so TODAY a realtor calls and asks to come through.
they were supposed to not be here until noon, but they showed up at 11:30.

whatever, we just got back home - went and had swedish meatballs and potatoes (bork, bork, bork, bork) at ikea, and looked at kitchen tables and bookcases. i'm tired of having all my books in storage, and i'm going to get them out. i don't CARE if the place is supposed to be "sanitized" for the folks who come through... if they don't read, that's their problem. i'm putting my books back out. which requires replacing the bookcases. and i haven't had a kitchen table in a couple of years, and thought it might be nice to have one, so we could like eat at it instead of on the floor in front of the tv. now and then.

never take a daughter person to ikea when said person has had an ephedrine-based decongestant. oooh, the pretty lights!!, shiiiineeeeeys, giggles, and wandering offs....

just shoot me? somebody?

108F??! ! this is supposed to be california, not texas! i coulda stayed there for 108F!

Oh Nan! The everyday happenings in the life of Nan is absorbing reading. You could start a column!

I'm off to the vet now to have the toe removed from my beloved husky. We hope she only has a tumour and not secondaries from the lung. She's overweight but looks very healthy to me. So I'm hoping for the best.

Robyn

Hello Lemom! First we get the avatar, then some words. Now we want to know about life without study and job hunting!

I hear ya', Nan! It's 102 F here today. And so humid!!!We were watching Soccerdude play this morning. He played goal yesterday, won the first and shut out the second. His knee was fine.
We got there today and the coach decided to put in the other goalie and Soccerdude was first striker ( think quarterback in football). Well, it was only a matter of time before some dumbass tripped him and there went the knee. If he'd been in goal, he would be fine. So he is currently watching he team play. He isn't playing and I wasn't staying to watch. "Hi ho, hi ho, back to physio we go!"

don't know
life is dominated by that, 8O

but there are lots of other things of course ...

if you don't want a list : stop reading HERE

- cycling with the kids, searched for a real cave and now a friend gave me a detailed plan (it's at about 9km from here)
- making cake/marmelade/... of the fruits people give me
-saved some plants almost strangled by some fast-multiplying weeds (those that cut in five make five new plants)
- my best friend has a newborn baby, i went to see her today and bring her dog back who had stayed with us for ten days
- i painted a monster in my son's bag for school (tomorrow, first schoolday)
- my morning run has increased with 2 km the last two months (now at 9)
- i'm reading inventor's book to make illustrations
- i'm making my paintings into jpg's to make posters of it
- two of my three brothers came to visit me (the third was on holiday in south-africa)
- also friends came to visit
- i did some trips to the city, antwerp, brussels and liège (also one time to london, 2 weeks ago, with daughter)
- have had one dancing night in august, all night long (with my brother, was really very enjoyable, funny and great night)
- i visited my grandfather and my uncle(who has lungcancer) and my aunt and nieces
- i bought a new computer and am now completly broke
- haven't played any trumpet lately, nor concentrated on electronic music or made any paintings and it destabilises me, don't understand why i haven't, probably the strange holiday-rythm
- have painted and worked walls of kitchen and our(hub and me) sleeping room
- must go to bed now ...

Does that translate into you enjoy reading it, or it's TMI? :?:

Hope your pup does well. You'll have to fuss over her a bit - she'll love that.

ouchies! ice?

yeah, really humid here, too. this is very odd weather. every afternoon thunderstorms build over the mountains, but never come down close enough to the coast to rain on us. it's humid, and uber-hot. we're not in rainy season, so everyone's a bit puzzled. and frying out the electric lines, sucking down the current running a/cs (or whatever they've got!). hope this ends soon.

That was quite lovely, thanks, mom.

Can you arrange for the temperature to drop, oh, say, about 40 degrees now?

The Kid's sniffles seem to have developed into a full-blown summer cold/sinus infection misery. Cold weather would be a lovely thing, now... she's all snurfly and miserable, running a fever. :(

I'll go out in my yard and do a "cold weather rain dance" for you, Nan! The neighbors think I'm cracked anyway. I got a few looks this morning while I was outside ranting to the dogs about the lazy husband. Apparently I look too sweet be talking like a trucker!! 8O I hadn't even gotten started.

Do you have any tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil? If you do, put a few drops in a kettle or pot and have her breath in the vapors for 20 minutes. She can also just breathe in the vapors from the tea tree oil right from the bottle since it is so hot there right now.
