How long will it take me to get there to see her? I could use some stress-busting, maybe I'll go back to the occasional vodka cooler.

Hmmm, I think I'd stick to wine and stay far from the vodka, if it were me.
She's still taking new patients - young woman, just a half-dozen years out of med school. Very good.

Actually, I think I'll just stick to listening to music, knitting and playing with the dogs. I don't miss drinking alcohol or smoking.

Where is Chuck? Running through the trees with the wind in his kilt??

Well, it’s all a matter of perspective.

It depends on which side of the kilt you're looking at:

From the front, it's definitely not the wind you're looking at. Nope. Don't know what a claymore is (and please don't explain it!), so that remains a possibility. But, from what I’ve seen of Chuck, a sharp pointy stick seems more probable. And a double post is biologically impossible. I'm certain of that.

From his backside, it's probably just wind.

Of course the best position for this investigation is to get directly under the kilt.

We'll have to do a study.

Volunteers for this study should do so by pm directly to Chuck.

My guess is, he'll either fund the research himself, or it will be performed at no charge.

(PS: Thanks for that olfactory image, Mom!)

Hey! I've been out doing a night run! (Much cooler, but less vision). 8O

Sorry about your daughter, Nan! Definitely an infection if it's green - but she ate a lot of protein which is good. That'll boost her immune system. The saline sinus washes and frequent fluids taken internally are a good idea. Go easy on decongestants - they make you slightly more susceptible to seizures, and I know she's been having them. What you've been doing overall is good. Sometimes body position changes (bend over at waist, let head hang down, and rotate the neck) will allow trapped fluids out. Unless the mucus is too thick. But don't do this if she has a throbbing headache - will throb worse in a bent over position.

Gargling with warm salt water, plus the Tylenol may ease her throat enough so that she can then eat the spicy foods you were thinking about - (like hot Chinese mustard, or hot Mexican peppers). A recent study showed that those types of spicy foods work much better than taking nasal decongestants to clear the sinuses.

And I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Godwit,
Please don't use the words Chuck, kilt, wind, research and under in the same post again! Ever! 8O

Oh and a little joy is always nice! :)

Oh HO! I see! Well, Nan asked me the size of the kilt that I'd be needing and I told her a two, but she never gave me one and I don't own one. I wasn't wearing a kilt. I wear my fluorescent pink tutu so cars can see me.

I'm going to shower, and call it a day. I hope you guys have fun. :D

We both get these all the time (well, a couple of times a year, anyway) so she'll be ok. Thanks for the advice on the seizures re meds - I had NO idea. Urk!! !! ! Oh my. :( So far she's only had the one where she lost consciousness, but she's had the auras more than once since then and so I'm still a little edgy about them. She asked me tonight if we could go get her another disabled bus pass so she could ride the bus to school. Technically she's been able to drive for two weeks now, so this tells me something that she's not told me outright. 8O

We'll go easy on the decongestants - the saline seems to be working well anyway. So far we've been able to keep her ears open today (had a hell of an ear ache last night till we got it open again) with just OTC tylenol/sinus. Gave her one of my pseudovents right before we went out, that helped. She says she feels now like she'll feel a lot better in the morning - everything is draining well.

She's been managing Pace Picante sauce on chips just fine, and that's loaded with C, so I think she's probably right. It'll probably be worlds better tomorrow.
