First name: Eddy

Age: 46

Location: England

Hobbies and interests: You might say, cars, cars and more cars! I have two American cars (one a retired LAPD unit, under restoration) and lots of models and books. I also enjoy films and theatre, especially musicals.

Why are you here? I think I may fit the criteria for Asperger's

When were you diagnosed? Not yet

Favourite subjects: see Hobbies

Year/Grade: n/a

Favourite music: old stuff; I particularly like Rock'n'Roll from the 50s, and swing, and bouncy country music.

Books: the Taffin series by Lyndon Mallet, also Bernard Cornwell and Dick Francis

TV/Movies: James Bond; The Blues Brothers; Some Like It Hot; Fiddler On The Roof; The Italian Job; Batman (Adam West); many 60s spy shows and 70s detectives

Instrument: I don't play one

Do you like sports? If so which? Not really, I'm even going off car racing these days.

Family: one sister, more or less a stranger. Wife, two adult stepchildren, two grandsons by one of these

Clothing: usually casual but when I get the opportunity I do like to dress well, I know I look good in a suit.

How did you find this website? I typed in "Asperger's chat room" and here I am

Job: I work in a home for adults with learning difficulties but I used to be a truck driver and I miss it (retired injured). I will probably return to driving.

Plans for the future: see above, plus I am working on a novel.

Any comments: Not yet, I'm brand new on here

What is your first name? I hate my first name! I'm not telling anyone!! ! :P

Age: 19

Location: Massachusetts

Hobbies and Interests: The net, reading (laregly Stephen King), writing (prose and poetry), psychology and school (I'm a psych major entering my junior year nest semester), and cats.

Why are you here? Boredom.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): 13-14, not "officially" diagnosed, but I was in a residential treatment center for 1.5 years where they really thought I had it, but there was a taboo against diagnosing minors.

Favorite subjects: Psychology, currently

Year/Grade: As I said, junior in college.

Favorite music: Adult Alternative, though a friend of mine it turning me on to metal.

Books: Books by: Douglas Adams, Erma Bombeck, Robert Cormier, Helen Fielding, Torey Hayden, Stephen King, Richard Ledderer, C.S. Lewis, John Saul, William Sleator, and many others. But the greatest of these is Stephen King.

TV shows/Movies: Movies: 28 days, 28 Days Later, A Beautiful Mind, Clue, Cruel Intentions, Dogma, Fight Club, Good Morning Vietnam, Girl Interrupted, Hitch, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Signs, The Sixth Sense, The Terminal, and many others. TV shows: Whatever's on.

Instrument: My cynical, sarcastic sense of humor. It can be an instrument! It's an instrument of communication!

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: No, but I played basketball in high school. And sucked. But that's OK, I did it to lose weight. ;)

Family: Yes. A mom, a biological dad, an adoptive deadbeat dad that gave me PTSD from physical/emotional abuse, the boyfriend my mom is leaving, and various grandparents/extended family. And pretty much all of them have some mental disorder (this is not just first year medical student stuff! They really do!)

Clothing: Casual, comfortable, low-maintenance. And obsessively clean.

How did you find this website? I'd heard about it before but the AS community on LJ linked there today and I figured what the heck, I'll check it out.

Job: Student, and incompetant work-study clerical gofer. I also get paid by the US government to have "severe emotional disturbance." The money I would make from a regular job would be subtracted from this. So, I don't work a summer job. Go beaurocracy!

Plans for the future? I want to be a therapist; grad school, then job.

Any comments? Uh.... hi?

I'm a HUGE Stephen King fan. I remember reading The Stand (the whole thing) back when I was seven, when all my friends were reading Goosebumps and all that crap :D. I'm glad there's another King fan on WrongPlanet. Tak!

I used to be a massive King fan years ago, but as the years went on I got bored of his books. Now my fave writer is Irvine Welsh!

Let me guess Clevercait's avatar... Kenny from South Park, after one of his trademark deaths.

Never heard of him (him?) but I think that I may have to seek out new authors to perseverate on very soon. I'm running out of books by King!! !

Rock on! A lot of people here seem to have that as an ideal career (myself included, though it's not the career I'm working toward- the income would be too unstable, but it would be nice on the side).
