Hi, Chucky,

Yeah, that was strange, trying to log in this early and having the site be down. Even checked to see where the server was - thought it might be out here on the coast and have melted from the heat or something. But it looks like it's over on the East Coast.

Morning, all.

Alex mentioned where it is to me one time. Downstate Pennsylvania, thinking inbetween Harrisburg and Phillie, but forgot the name, Lancaster maybe. But yeah, it's pretty bad. I'm not getting my email notices for a lot of things I reply to. It has was discussed else where about the ad's on WP, that when we're not doing anything important, click on them, it generates the money to keep WP going. This isn't free to someone and I assume Alex. I have thought some on the money angle and I think it might be kind of a rock and a hard place, that if there was a way to donate (poor word) to keeping WP at tip top, people might get the bright idea of accusing Alex of making money off of it. Well, I'm thankful for what is here anyway. About the only time I really get angry is when I'm in a spot where time is important for the communication that is ongoing and that has only been a very few times. What we do here doesn't fit the bill for what I'm speaking of. More in lines with the Haven. I don't do that probably as much as I should, but I have to have my head screwed on at least semi correctly when I post anything in there. It can be very draining as well, so I have to pace myself. This site is truly a blessing.

The notion that nobody is making a bundle from the shear entertainment value of this place is so shockingly un-American that I'm having palpitations and involuntary muscle spasms now . . . And I can't even spontaneously come up with a single clue about how I can cash in on this.

OH NO! I NEED HELP NOW!

AAAHHHHHHHHH!

Godwit screams, then faints!! !! !! !!

His eyes flicker. "Chuck," he whispers. "Where's that grant application package ........" He passes out again but the cafe regulars leap over him as they make a mad dash to find copies of Chuck's master looting plan.

The cafe reverberates with screams . . .

CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!???? CHUCK!! !!????

Send the damn heat this way, I'm tired of being cold. The temp hit 36 F two nights ago. A record and I know it was a few degrees colder here at the house.

Sounds nicer than where I am.

Hell.

Sounds sort of invigerating to me, Alan.

Cool!

Except for one thing. I don't know how to put this delicately, Alan, but if you would just turn OFF your air conditioners when it's that cool outside, you might find that your house is warmer than the outside air. I mean, there's at least a remote possibility, eh?

PS I think if you hit the home page it will show how many members are on vs how many lurking.

I think if anybody else hits the home page, the whole site will freeze again.

Besides, I already looked, froze the site, then much later was able to determine that that info is simply not there. Just the total number of members and total number on line, not the total number of viewers.

And in case anybody dares to challenge my powers of observation . . .

. . . I can assure you that they are powerful indeed.

PPS Godwit are you up New England way? Not asking for a town if you don't want, just a guess on my part.

PP! Please STOP implying that I'm paranoid! It's just way too scarey to expose which region of which country of which continent of which planet I am temporarily occupying, because I don't want them to come get me.

I can say this though: If you looked down from space (where you've said you frequently visit) at the Earth and saw a black hole located somewhere between New York, Quebec, New Brunswick and the Atlantic Ocean, that would be me: the densest object visible from space. But, as to which region of which country of which continent that is, well, that's just too scarey to expose.

Happy now?

oh, please take all the heat you want! i would so happily trade places!! !! (actually, when we sell out and move house, we probably won't be that far from you folks anyway - but that's many months down the pike.) one can always put more clothing on, but there's a limit at what you can take off and once you hit that and the temps keep climbing, well, it's... yucky.

Yah! That's what I want to know, too. Where is she?

But, I'm being Justin Case, so . . .

I brought some gift wrap!

Just in case anybody forget to wrap their gifts.

AND, just in case anybody forgot to bring a gift . . .

I brought evidence that you did and Nannarob already opened it.
IT COULD WORK!
