I hope you don't take this too personal, but this definately does not describe Aspergers Syndrome:

Aspergers people tend to actually listen to what people say, and process the information in literal terms. Not in paranoid terms... that "the world is out to get me and everyone hates me"... but rather, if somebody says "I'm thinking about coming by this weekend." The Aspergers/Autism person understands it as "Company visiting this weekend." "Company visiting this weekend." "Company visiting this weekend." -- and will commence the event to memory...
And if that visit doesn't happen as it was literally expected to, it is very upsetting to the Autistic person.

My aunt has an Autistic son on the low functioning end of the Autism spectrum. When she tells him, "Sometime we'll get together and go camping. Just me and you." He actually begins packing and making *literal* plans to go camping. His Dad told her to stop doing that to him, because he takes everything literal. He does not understand "hidden inuendos" and "paranoid" and "world is out to get me".

"Paranoid" thought processes are not related to Aspergers syndrome. If anything, it would decrease the likelihood of experiencing those kind of thoughts you describe.

Are you asking me to Scan and Post the reports on the internet, so every pedophile and rapist and criminal predator on the internet can read and access my private medical records and records on my children? Just to prove to you... something I know is true?

Are you a GOD that I must prove anything to you and your insulting arrogance?

criteria for bpd: "9. transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms"

You don't have to prove a thing. I merely stated my opinion.

"And btw I don't think you have AS." -->"Are you asking me to..."

Yeah, that's definitely literalism. No doubt about it.

And no "BPD" present. Neither BiPolar / Manic Depression, nor this Borderline Personality assumption you made earlier.

As I stated earlier, I was diagnosed strictly Aspergers + PTSD.

I was sent to an assessment for Aspergers a few months ago, and the woman "Jennifer" who did the assessment, failed miserably to even understand what Aspergers was. She merely brushed up on Autism, then sit in her office telling me, "What you're describing to me isn't Aspergers. If you were Aspergers, you wouldn't care if you hurt people's feelings."

She was spouting off one of the leading myths about Aspergers, that people who are Aspergers have no human empathy. Ted Bundy and Adolf Hitler had no human empathy. Medical "professionals" who don't know the difference??

I can easily validate my claims of Aspergers Syndrome (aside of my 3 children examined by an Autism specialist and confirmed + positive +), regarding the Quackery that occured, this is extracted (legal names removed) from the emails. If necessary, I can save the emails as files and forward them to a moderator, complete with intact headers... if there are any questions as to the validity of my claims or origin of the emails??

Please try to relax about this and understand that ****name removed**** knew nothing about you before you came in that day. She is not used to working with people with Aspergers. She is well aware that the Aspergers is there now that ****name removed**** and I have both spoken with her. I can assure you that everything will be fine.

Thank you for expressing your concerns. I will gladly talk more about this with you when we have our sessions. Take care!

Please understand that ****name removed**** and I both believe without a doubt that you do have Aspergers and that we are here to help you move forward and make your life and your childrens' lives better. The reason your paperwork was submitted under PTSD is because of the severity at which your PTSD symptoms presented when you met with ****name removed****. You suffered so much trauma as a child for more reasons than one... and some of the trauma happened to you as an adult.

The Aspergers symptoms you have had throughout your life intensify the PTSD at times because you become fixated on the discussion. I am so glad you are reading about Asperger's and that you are well aware of what is going on with you. It is such a good thing for you to read about. Now that you do know about the Asperger's, we have to find ways for you to move forward with your life, to grow as a person and to not have to relive the trauma experiences you had so much over your life time. It is a new day! God is with you and He is for you!

Do you have any doubt these emails are genuine?
There's zero mention of borderline personality disorders or bi polar disorders or any other conditions, namely because it is non-existent.

I suppose you'd have more people sharing in your sense of humor, but you're forgetting this is an online support community exclusively for people who are Aspergers and Autistic, and not a forum for mocking them and ridiculing the condition. You're the minority here.

I suppose mockery of the Aspergers' brutal literalism, and unfiltered honesty is by far better than being called a "liar".

I'm happy that question is settled.

Meanwhile you asked for advise at the opening of the thread, and I gave you my brutally honest opinion. It is your prerogative to accept it or dismiss it, but there's no need to become personal and insulting when a person is being _completely honest_ with you.

It was never necessary to begin attaching labels, AFTERALL, you asked for advice, and I gave it to you. Insults, simply because I was intuitive and stated correct suspicions (your confirmation that your mother, like mine, lost her mother at a young age -- I sensed it), or the accusation that I had a "borderline personality disorder" when I certainly do not (simply for giving you the advise you asked for - may have not liked the truth (does it matter?) - don't shoot the messenger) and even worse, accusing me of being a "liar" by making a false claim to Aspergers syndrome, when I've produced documentation to prove that indeed, I have Aspergers Syndrome.
If you continue to agitate others on WP that are A.S., you're liable to receive the same congenial treatment I've greeted you with.

I don't think aspies are funny. I think you're funny. Currently, I think I probably have AS. While we're telling NT's to get out, I could say the same to you, because I don't believe that you have AS. I get the impression that the examination a few months ago came back negative, and then they corrected the result to fit your personality, as AS is definitely a very important part of your identity. So really, I don't think I can be absolutely certain either way.

Personally, I almost always am honest, but I try to put it in such a way as to avoid disastrous consequences.

I'm offended: there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with having borderline personality disorder! That doesn't make me a bad person, in and of itself!

I made neither claim. And to clarify: no, I am neither.

I believe that such qualifications are not necessary in order to have opinions.

Again, you misunderstood my comment. You are having trouble understanding things in their proper context. Who was telling anyone to "get out"? That would be rude, however, it is extremely rude to put an "XD" for "laughing hard" when you falsely accuse an Aspergers person, of lying. Then when they prove they are, Yes, I have Aspergers Syndrome. I am 100% confident of that fact, with 3 children verified. Because I produced documentation to prove I speak the truth, you want to mock with a "laughing hard". That's very offensive.

There's nothing "funny" about the diagnosis. It's just rude.

They apologized for setting me up with a therapist who did not have the credentials to ascertain a diagnosis. Period. That is very common on this forum. People who are Aspergers seeing therapists and doctors who are ignorant of what Autism and Aspergers is, even citing leading myths about Aspergers, as the cause of misdiagnosis.

I provided documentation to prove that I am. The burden of proof is on you, to prove that I am not.

hrmpk wrote:

Is it honest to deny what was clearly written in a counselor's emails? It clearly states "Aspergers Syndrome". And what disastrous consequences? Yes, Aspies have trouble discerning how to word things, and often end up completely misunderstood and offending NT's, which seems to be the direction this thread has taken. Strange because I was merely trying to offer the advise you asked for, then found myself accused of a "borderline personality disorder" and accused of lying/falsifying my position as an Aspergers person... accused of many things. Yet claim you "word things carefully to avoid offense".

Then why, am I the one here, feeling offended?
