How bizarre- My doctor had me taking very large amounts of fish oil not so long ago, as she thought that it would be helpful for a rheumatic disorder that I also have. To be fair, that doctor is not the one that I visit for Pyroluria, so they could not have known. However, Pyroluric avoidance of fish-oil was not something that I myself was aware of, so there you go. It ~may~ be of some relevance that I was not at my best whilst taking the fish-oil supplements; so much so, that I discontinued taking them. BTW: by all means discuss a KP test with your GP, but be prepared for them to say "Pyro-what??" and "KP test....? I'll have to look that up...." lol :P

Blue Bean: under occupation, you have written "Book-Keeper". What does this particular position entail? As in, accounting book-keeping? Also, your profile indicates that you are unsure as to your diagnosis; is this still the case? (I would be very interested to hear from you on this matter :D )

I do peoples tax returns for a living :? :? :? It's one enthalling career[/sarcasm]

I still feel that I don't know enough about myself and AS to make a self diagnosis, hence why my profile is still set to unsure. I plan to leave my unsurity there until a fully qualified AND experienced professional says yay or nay to me having AS. I can't be sure until someone else is sure. Thats how unsure I am :P :P

Hi I know this is an old post BUT its one of the few that turns up the keyword Pyroluria.

I'm new here, another Aussie and yes I have Pyroluria as does my ASD son and more than likely my little girl as well. My Dad is being tested next month has he is a likely candidate and I would love my brother to do it as well in time.

Working with a Biomed GP who is making some big changes.

Just thought it'd be nice to get in touch with any others in the same boat.
