Generally a white Scotsman (Aberdonian), but let me elaborate:
Dad's side: his dad's great-grandfather Robert Watson, commercial traveller, was from Ireland; and his mum's great-grandfather James Collins, agricultural labourer, was from Ireland too.
Mum's side: her dad's side all found pretty much in the Aberdeen area; and her mum's side may be from Ireland given John Kennedy (her great-grandfather), harbour stevedore, was from the docklands of Dundee where apparently many Kennedys came originally from Ireland. Not relevant (I've already listed occupations anyway!) but my great-grandfather, William Kennedy, iron driller (foreman), son of John Kennedy and Helen Ann Forrest (from Edinburgh) was brought up by two people, who technically, were illegitimates.
Apart from fairly diluted Irish blood, I'm as pretty much 'Aberdeen' as you can get. Haven't discovered any Glaswegian blood as yet: whether that's a good or bad thing I don't know...Good thread by the way.
