Favorite music:
I like most genre's but at the moment I'm mostly listening to classical, j-rock, 80's pop and metal

Books:
I quite enjoyed true blood and of course there are many mangas that I like but I'm completely lost at the moment in my own series of books that I'm writing.

TV shows/Movies:
I love anime and japanese horror, I'm also partial to programmes from years gone by twin peaks, married with children, x-files, the a-team, miami vice, basically anything 80's early 90's

Family:
I'm married and have a daughter. My husband is my rock, he understands me so much and enjoys my little quirks and is always there to help me through the bad times and never judges me particularly when I'm having a meltdown. My daughter I don't have such a good relationship with, we set each other off and get on each other's nerves but most of the time we're close. My parents and brother I don't really have a relationship with, I pretty much feel nothing towards them and have always felt like that, completely shut off from them and thankfully we live 300 miles away from them so I don't have to see them hardly ever (twice a year if I'm lucky). Same with the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins) I've never really got on with or been close to any of them. None of them have any idea about my problems, they just think I'm weird.

Clothing:
When I was a little younger(teens through to mid twenties) I mainly dressed in very gothic / metalhead attire, now that I'm older I go for more of an alternative / rock attire. Lots of black jeans, baseball boots / doc martens & tees, instead of velvet and lace and 'mosh' pants. I think it's mainly to avoid embarrassing my daughter at school, I still have crazy hair and piercings and that's enough to make her cringe lol

I used to work in accountancy but moved quite far from my last accountancy job so had to quit. Decided to go into a different field but ended up being a stay at home mum / student / web designer

Plans for the future?
Finish my book series, hopefully get them published, go back to uni and finish my degree, have another baby or two, move house.

I'll use this survey for my official introduction here, because I don't think I'm brave enough to create a new topic for myself. I'll also skip some questions for the sake of privacy.

Oh, and I'm a girl. (Why isn't there a question about gender?)

Hobbies and Interests: Writing (creative writing or academic) is my prime interest. I used to have other special interests, especially during my childhood and teenage years. For example, astronomy. Or Australia.

Why are you here? Not sure. Because it's fun? I want to learn more about having Asperger's and to meet other people on the spectrum. And to hear their experiences.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): This is tricky. I'd say when I was in my late teens, only I wasn't officially diagnosed. It's a bit tricky in my country to get a full diagnose of Asperger's; only if you're a text-book case or if it's obvious to them. And as we know, people rarely are textbook cases when it comes to Asperger's.

Anyway, my friend was the first one who suggested I was "a little autistic", as she put it, and I went to get a professional opinion. They concluded I wasn't autistic, but nobody suggested Asperger's at that time (that was in the 90s). Later, some professionals told me I might be, according to behavior and tests, but I was never officially diagnosed. I score as a full Aspie on the online tests, of course, but I don't really trust them.

All in all, I do believe I'm an Aspie, but due to the way medical system works here, I've never received my official diagnosis. But to be honest, I never tried to get one after my teen years. I'm not sure if I need it (though it would be good to know, I suppose).

Favorite music: I like rock music. Particularly grunge. But I can listen practically anything, even if I don't like it. When I get obsessed with a song, I play it again and again for hours.

Books: Way to many to name. Let's see a few authors I like: Ian McEwan, J.R.R. Tolkien, Toni Morrison.

TV shows/Movies: Mike Leigh is my favourite director. I love movies (and I like writing movie reviews), so basically any genre can go, as long as it's not action or chick lit. I'm not crazy about TV shows. I like How I Met Your Mother, though.

Instrument: I wish! But no. I'm untalented for music. I'd love to play bass guitar.

Do you like sports? I like to watch some sports (like basketball), but I'm too clumsy for doing any sports, except for swimming.

Family: I am married. (My husband is one year older than me).

Clothing: Whatever is comfortable. I like flannel shirts, though.

Favorite subjects: Math, Second Language

Favorite music: I'm into 80's and 90's music. Maybe early 2000's, depending on the artist. Also a few modern ones, who's songs actually make sense.

Books: I'm a thick novel reader. I'll read almost anything with more than 200 pages.

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch too much TV, but I like good sitcoms like King of Queens. I like watching sci/fi movies.

Instrument: I know how to play the guitar, and a teensy bit of piano.

Do you like sports? To an extent. I'm coordinated, but I just... tire easy.

Hobbies and Interests: I like watching sports mainly football, cricket, rugby and wrestling. I also watch plenty of documentaries about animals. My favourite ones being about snakes.

Why are you here? To possibly meet other people with AS and learn from them. Perhaps finding some new ways to control my temper if at all possible.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): At around the age starting year 7. I am in the UK.

Favorite subjects: Snakes and other reptiles, Football and Cricket.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): when I was ten (2005)

Favorite subjects: the sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) and French

Year/Grade: year 12 (in NZ, USA equivalent - junior in high school)

Favorite music: I listen to it all, and my favourite varies on the day and my mood. And yea, I will play one song on repeat all day.. Or all weekend.. A long time, anyway.

Books: now that's hard. I've read since I was three, read at highschool level before I was ten.. I've read so many, I don't have a favourite.

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch a lot of TV, I'm highly sensitive to noise and view tv as pointless noise.. I'll watch movies though, and have a soft spot for anything emotional

Instrument: I play guitar, and sing, if we're counting voice as an instrument

Do you like sports? If so, which ones? As a general rule, no. However there's an exception to every rule, and equestrian and canoe polo are my exceptions. I play canoe polo. Well did. Or do. It's complicated but simple all at once

Family: Well.. I have one, but they aren't nice to me. There's my mum and dad and two sisters in my immediate family.. And let's not go further than that. My parents are divorced, and my dad has AS as well, but doesn't want to, so says he doesn't.

Any comments? I get weirder the more you know me, I'm better with emotions and reading people than most people, with or without AS. I believe this may be due to the fact that I am somewhat psychic, and it's up to you if you believe that. My home life is far from perfect, and I have depression. Any questions, feel free to ask. I don't bite. Often.
