Thanks for your reply, Godwit.

So are Richie and Cosmicscat underachievers too? What a waste of Brain Power!

Actually, my story was more about the silliness involved. There was another toilet upstairs. I have no idea why I insisted on using the occupied one. (Or maybe I do, now...)

If I never made mistakes and never acted like an idiot, I'd never have the opportunity to laugh at myself, or change my mind, or learn anything new. Isn't making mistakes and acting like an idiot the whole basis for humor?

This is why my idiocy, and others idiocy, doesn't bother me that much.

(Unless, of course, the other idiot is really large, angry at me, and has a weapon.)

Is that what you mean?

Your welcome.

But I am not an underachiever!

It all goes back to the laws of beach formation. What the beach looks like depends on the underlying material, the material deposited on the surface, and the prevailing surf and tidal forces.

In normal cases, a beach is sandy. (NT) In rare cases, a beach is pebbly. (AS) In my case, it's just plain rocky.

Well, I didn't sign anything. And I don't believe in "implied signatures." Of course, I'm not the Surpeme Court, which might believe in them. I don't know.

PS: Must now go saw wood of fallen tree that fell exactly where I was standing no more than 4 hours previously.

But when I went outside, I discovered that it's dark!

And now, I just figured out that I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon, so I'm going to eat something, because I'm hungry.

Is that like those that claim they had relatives on the Mayflower over here?

It was kind of funny when dad back tracked our surname, only to see that the first arrival was in chains, POW's. Scotsmen, father and son, wrong side of a war or a boarder skirmish and got sent to the iron mills in Boston. They liked it and stayed. Huum, most likely quit the iron works, but I don't know that for sure either.

So now I am Cosmic Scat?

What's going on here. Who said I was an I and Richie are underachievers? Do I have to go on my war dance again.

I needed to put food on the table and pay for my first daughter's wedding. It was good honest work. I achieved much from that experience. If I underachieved at anything it was not achieving a full understanding of my own intelligence. Remember, I grew up thinking I was ret*d and or crazy somehow, and didn't find out differently until this past April. That would have an impact on what kind of employment I sought and obtained. I could go on and on. But I know this wasn't said in an insulting way, I'm just pulling somebody's leg. :)

Just before I flake out... the sand/pebble/rock question ... Beach Evolution.

PS. Cosmicscat... you can pull my leg, if you like.

You did when you checked the yes for the terms of agreement here. In Europe they look at these things differently then here. So far the Surpeme court or should say the higher courts have sided with most terms of service. They do frown on hidden things. I didn't see anything hidden in that one. Seemed pretty stright forward. But then I have the morals of a goat and don't much care what laws are around. Doesn't mean I don't try to stick to the rules, I'm not above breaking them when it suits me either. I'm an honest thief, honest I am.

I think it was Desraeli that said, plagerisum is the most sincerest form of flattery.

PS here ya go, seems to have picked up a little steam. I thought it was going to be a dead end post. Just learned some more.

 Maybe you can quote me in your signature Oh Cosmic one.

Yes, you did get my drift. In our new world order we will have aspie intelligence recognised!
...err, can I join in?

Now, to answer an earlier question. My daughter is 36, has had a successful journalism carreer, and knows much more about the world than I do. She sold up everything in May, left her dog (13) with me and her husband in Melbourne and headed for Vietnam. She is going to be divorced. The trouble is that we all love her soon- to-be ex.

So a friend and I are going to visit her, flying out on the 19th September.

Well, as one criminal to another, hi Postpaleo! My father was one of the most honest men I knew before I met you lot, and he carried that line.

We are going through the same scenario with our number 3 daughter. For the second time. Her first love was like a son to us and brother to our other children. We adored him. He never had a father in his life and Papa John was his father figure. He and my son were like brothers. We gradually got over it and accepted her now soon to be ex-husband as a well loved member of our family. Again, we lose another son, brother, friend. This is the kind of stuff books and movies are made of, but when it happens in real life it's not so easy to swallow.

I read the "Penny Saver" exclusively!! !! !!

My daughter is in Oregon at the moment, taking a course to be a medic on treks and climbing expeditions. She is a self taught fiddler and herbalist and certified Yoga instructor. She majored in Russian and Women's Studies at Penn State and returned somewhat of a stranger.

Thanks. I already read that link. It either doesn't answer my question, or I misread what it is in the article. I have also looked at several other geology pages, and none explain why one beach is sand, another is pebble and another is rock.

Criminal? Did you say Criminal? Bah!! POW's, that means they didn't pick the winning side, and nothing to do with being a low life criminal. What you mean those cattle in the yard have English brands on them? I bought them, yeah that's it and the dog ate the bill of sale. My dog? Why do you ask? Yes he's an English Mastiff and he ate that bill of sale too. The Wife? No not English, she's Welsh, I wish I had her bill of sale, I could get my trade back. I spent 2 fine roosters, a box of mixed chocolates and a blind toad and look what I got for it. Life's unfair.
