Some people get their kicks jumping out of airplanes! I get mine spending my days - and nights- with kids who scream profanties, hit, kick, throw things, and threaten my life! That is until they've been with me a couple months. They can get to me occasionally, but I can take most anythinig now without giving them back the anger they show me. Nothing puts a disturbed kid into shock more than answering their "I'm gonna kill you," with an "I love you."
Keith :P

What is your first name? Aimee

Age: 34

Location: California

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, Writing, Video games, crafts

Why are you here? I'm not sure if I have Asperger's, but I do believe I have some symptoms, and having read over the forums a little, I feel a kinship with many of you

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Not Diagnosed

Favorite subjects: I think my favorite subject is psychology, though I majored in biology in college
Year/Grade: 10th grade next fall

Favorite music: I listen to almost anything, no real favorite, though I'm not crazy about rap

Books: I read a lot my favorite genres are Fantasy and Mysteries. Some of my favorites are Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, and Terry Brooks. I also like Dean Koontz a lot. I am also a fan of the X-Men Comicbooks

TV shows/Movies: Currently I don't have a favorite, but some of my past favorites included: X-Files, Buffy, and Angel

Instrument: I don't play any instruments, though I always wanted to play the piano when I was young

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: Not too into sports. I do love gymnastics and dancing (despite being uncoordinated I enjoyed taking classes whe I was younger. I do like running, but I never was on a team or anything

Family: I have a Dad and Stepmom, and a Mom and Stepdad. Plus I have a full brother (30-years-old, no signs of Asperger's as far as I can tell), and I have a 17-year-old half sister (through Dad) who is very good at social situations so I don't think she has signs of Asperger's, but she did hand flap when she was little (with absolutely no other autistic-like behavior). I also have a husband, and my brother is married with a 1 year-old daughter and another baby on the way. As far as anyone having Asperger's in my family, my grandfather on my father's side will talk your ear off on a narrow field of topic (mostly his view of religion/philosophy of life) I have heard practically the same conversation come out of his mouth for my entire life. He also was very intelligent and was skipped two grades, but then flunked one. I'm thinking he seems to have some Asperger-like tendencies.

Clothing: I wear mostly jeans and T-shirts or turtle necks. I used to like wearing dresses when I was young, now I mostly don't like to dress up more because I could stand to lose 20 lbs, but also for comfort reasons.

How did you find this website? I found it while doing searches on Asperger's Syndrome (which I originally heard about from my husband)

Job: Currently I am a QC Analyst at a biotech company, before that I was a research associate at another biotech comp. Basically, both of these are lab positions. However, I would like to change careers and have taken some classes on copyediting, with the hopes to eventually work freelance from home, but I have been afraid to get started other than taking the few classes.

Plans for the future? See above, I'd also like to eventually write fantasy novels.

Any comments? I have really enjoyed looking through the forums, I just finally got the nerve to join this weekend and this is my first post
