Age: 18

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hobbies and Interests: Coffee, tea (origin, nuance, aroma, roast, steeping / brewing methods; I'm sort of obsessed), Coney Island, Veganism / Macro-Vegetarianism / Raw-foodism (I don't practice any of these anymore), Emergency Medicine & Services

Why are you here? I'm here because I suspect I have Asperger's.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): My mother is a physician - her psychologist friends suggested I see a specialist when I was 12. I never pursued it. Six years later, I am now in the diagnostic process. Let's see what the doctors say...

Year / Grade: I haven't been in school in over a year and a half.

Favorite music: Anti-folk, Folk, Baroque Pop, Trip-Hop

Books: Hesse, Pessoa, Sartre, Zinsser, Salter, Safran Foer

TV shows/Movies: I was never one for television, but these three caught my interest in strikingly different ways: The Dick Van Dyke Show, Twin Peaks and House

Instrument: I've fooled around with a classical guitar

Do you like sports? No. I can run distance.

Family: Two moms (yes, they're gay), two sisters - bio mom and bio sister probably both have AS

How did you find this website? Oh, I'm sure WP popped up at some point during my AS research... I frequented this site for months before joining in on the discussion.

Job: bookstore clerk & non-profit work

Plans for the future? EMS, college, friendship

Any comments?

Any comments? For some reason the most memerable quote I've read was "When the game is over, both the king and the pawn go in the same box"- Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey's mother, after she faced her daughter and won for the first and last time, the other quotes that stick out in my mind are very poetic and very distubing ( due to several refernces to the grave).

What is your first name? Dominique

Age: 36

Location: California

Hobbies and Interests: Film, Art, Music, Medicine, Languages, Books

Why are you here? I have Asperger's Syndrome

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): This week, officially

Year/Grade: DONE with school

Favorite music: Right now I am really into Vampire Weekend, but my eternal favorites are PJ Harvey and Nick Cave

Books: Any text book on medicine/diseases, The Merck Manual, Color Atlas and Synopsis of Clinical Dermatology, Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine (copywrite: 1896!) etc. etc. etc. ...aside from all the medical stuff I like the diaries of Anais Nin, Henry Miller, Milan Kundera, and Marguerite Duras

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch TV. I am obsessed with any movie starring (or co-starring) Portugese actress Maria de Medeiros, many of you may know her as the part of "Fabienne" in Pulp Fiction. Me and You and Everyone We Know, Ghost World, We Need to Talk about Kevin (I probably capitalized incorrectly), I Think We're Alone Now, documentaries, Amelie, foreign fims...etc. etc. etc.

Family: They are pretty much all dead now.

Clothing: I wear the same thing most of the time. I buy ten of the same color and type of shirt(s). I like very plain, uniform-ish looking clothes. I love the colors black, navy blue, khaki, burgundy, and grey. I will only ever wear dark socks

Plans for the future? I have several degrees in other disciplines (I'm a Registered Nurse, Bachelors in Anthropology/Archaeology, Make-up Artist)...I want to figure out some way to utilize my accomplishments (ie. WORK) with having the least amount of contact with other people as possible

Any comments? Not really.
