The personnel has changed a little. John Cleve is the one one the left of the video. There are a couple I don't recognise. We used to sing on The Platt (where they are) a couple of times a week. This is the "Fishermen Friends". The choir, "Port Isaac Chorale", used to sing about once a week, same place, then shift over to Port Gaverne to do an encore. Thinks... about half the Fishermen Friends were also in the PI chorale.

A silliness... this from a restaurant on Crete, where we very nearly opened the bottle of Whisky on the table, which would have been rather expensive and very foolish.

Chuck did it. Got me pulled into the clutches of Youtube and shot half my day. From Port Isaac fisherman to Fairport Convention. Worth the lost time. Who knows where the time goes anyway.

Sheeze you old hippy. I have Unhalf Bricking on tape next to me. Some consider Sandy Denny one of the most influential folk singers that came out of England in her time. Tragic tale. One helluva voice.

My in-laws have done that. They never talk to their children unless it is an event like I told you about. The kids are on there own in every sense of the word and have been since they graduated high school. My kids are more than welcome to call and visit whenever and I will always help them. They'll just have to drive uphill!!

that's weird. i posted, but it vanished. all by itself. time for me to get ~another~ complex.

no, really. if you're bonded with someone, how can you just cut them cold? it would be like tearing part of you off and throwing it away. if you're connected with them, wouldn't you always be?

or maybe they never bonded, they're just doing the requirements - the obligations - like that guy with his preschooler in the crafts store on friday night. no feeling there, just the social mechanics.

I wish doctors could come up with something that will at least blunt pain, and not trade it off for about ten life altering side effects.

There have been some studies on using neurofeedback to control chronic pain. The abstract in the link says they have reached the clinical trials stage. If the treatment passes those, the next question is how cost effective it will be. At the moment, fMRI is still expensive (price is supposed to come down), but I have seen reference to neurofeedback using EEG, which is a lot cheaper. You could ask your doctor to ask around, but remember that you'd have to be lucky at the moment. Right now, the information offers more hope for the future than a practical method available to normal mortals.

For a very general description of what neurofeedback is, you can go to New Scientist, at the end of the article in the link.

Thank you for the link. I'm going to research this, definitely.
