Yep, everyone is different. I tend to believe that there are no "good" people or "bad" people, but there are people who have proclivities (of various intensities) towards one or the other direction, sometimes both in the same lifetime. (Perhaps even at the same time.) It's always a judgment call as to where one has to draw one's internal "do not cross" lines - and how much is "too much".

Having studied people for all the years of my life, though, I've learned that one can tell a lot about a person by noting what makes them laugh. My gut feeling is that someone who thinks that any living creature's suffering is amusing or in any way humorous is not anyone with whom I want to associate in any depth or have my kid near. I'm sure those individuals will find others of a mind more alike to their own with whom to interact - there appear to be plenty of them in the world. So I'll just segue away.

Yeah. I had no idea what the movie was going to be, it was just over 100F outside and the house wasn't a/c'd so I went to the Sunday afternoon movie, one day. Nicely done, just very, very sad.

I just found a site that does picture, video and audio hosting.I got a new toy...digital tape recorder and want to read my poetry
into it and put in on-line.It's sort of a comprimise to going to poetry slams, which I've always been to shy to do.

If anyone else knows of other free sites to post audio on,I would love a link.I cant seem to fgure out how to do audio in this one(though, they claim to do it).I did post some photos of me,cats, bunnies,Conniticut and Arizona nature photos and some of the "art",(thats what I call those crazy dolls, cat stool and suede whip)....have a peek.

I've been using Photo-Bucket for some time and I just took a look at this site and I like what I see.
Is this site easier to use than PB? Is there a picture size limit?

I thought it was vey easy and I am "computer moron",sooo.you should have no problem.I just joined, didnt notice a slide show feature, but the pictures are actually a little to big for my little screen.I didnt realize until I had loaded them that many are out of focus(cant tell just looking at the thumbnails.) .I also have photobucket, but was looking for something for audio files and this is supposed to have one but I think it is "under construction/maintenance"right now?

Anyway,give it a shot.It's free. :D

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!
Never been to AZ, but CACTUS!
Sorry, but cat jokes & stories are now racing through my head.
I LOVE swamps! Skunk Cabbages & Cinnamon Ferns!
I love watching the Chickadees gleening the Cinnamon Ferns for fuzz in the Spring to line their nests.
And as to Self, Krex: You Rock!

 thanks. My parents live in Arizona and use their frequant flying miles to bring me out ever couple of years.I go in the late fall and it's a very calming place.I think the photos are from the spring, also very nice...summer,not so much.

The swamp is actually in a nephews backyard,it was beautiful. It is "protected" meaning no one can build on it....he is very lucky.

Krex, I love your house. There is so much to look at!! Collections are great. I can't say I like the dolls because I have a phobia, but the rest is just cool. And I can finally put a face to the name. :D

I take it that was for NOT dumping 1,001 cat jokes on you.

Please believe me, my fingers are just TWITCHING to start typing away.

I am so impressed with my own self control that I might just have to reward myself.

By telling a few cat jokes!

I could have sworn I saw photbucket saying they would hold vidoe uploads. Maybe just normal picture upload buttons work, didn't try. It wasn't hard getting the one I did up on Youtube and it does have a limit of 100 megs per video. Going to do another tonight, put it up if it comes out half way well. Still haven't done the one I have planned from before.

It's frustrating sometimes for me to get the right beat, pauses where I want in the poetry. I think it's importat to do your very best in the written. Yet when you read it, you can get your intent in it so much easier. Richard Burton did some Shakespeare work, was very good at it. My Dad was into Shakespeare big time and had some hi-fi records he got of Burton reading. Dad had long since memorized the words and I suspect he was listening for anothers interpretation of the same words. I know that's why we went to see The Old Vic Players, they were/are the best in the world. It was kind of funny, there were two young ladies, well young to me now, in the seats ahead of us and they were reading the script as the actors were acting. I think they were doing the same. Me I just liked the swords and the witches.

I see Quatermass now uses Latin signatures. Then he can probably also confirm that the Latin for "To Serve and to Protect" is FABRICATI DIEM, PUNC. Not many people know that.

Actually, oh Pratchett fan, it is actually supposed to mean "Make my day, punk", but Pratchett always (and I think deliberately) uses crappy Latin.

I found it ugly, disturbing and sadistic. I don't understand how it's child abuse, though. It looks more like abuse of a green faced woman. Who re-edited it? Perhaps it wouldn't be so "sicko" if wasn't ripped out of context. Dr. Who may be a tasteful and brilliant program, but ripping something from the program and re-editing it, would remove the sanction and prestige at the same time.

In the context, a woman has been kidnapped by these aliens called the Family of Blood, who actually need to possess her body in order to infiltrate a school where they think the Doctor (who has fled from them and took on human physiology in order to hide) is hiding. Baines does say these lines, and their spaceship does explode, but those are unconnected events.

These two videos are actually from The Family of Blood, and explain a little of the background of the story. The first is Baines and the woman, Jenny (both now possessed by members of the Family, and their original selves now dead) confronting the headmaster of the school. The scene is darkly humourous itself (his taunting the headmaster, "here to give me a caning sir?", and his saying "I'm ever so good at science, sir" before pulling the arm off an animated scarecrow), but is also extremely serious.

This second scene (spoilers, ye be warned), involves what happens at the end, when the Doctor, who has regained his Time Lord biology and memories (long story) has defeated the Family, who wanted Time Lord physiology to become immortal. This is the Doctor at one of his darkest points.

I think photobucket does host videos now but I didnt see anything for audio files....would that be the same thing?
i'm not even sure how my "new toy" works, just know that it's digital and will load on the computer...maybe it will have a link to a hosting site?

I use to read poetry and prose(other peoples)in the speech team.(Yes,I belonged to a group and they were all as big of rejects as me :D )We got a long pretty good.I won awards, only thing in my life I ever did win(except most improved rider at horse camp, but that was only because I fell off the first day...no where to go from there, but up...actually they were probably just bribing me to not sue, since the horse almost steped on my head, lol)

I first doubted I was aspie because ...how could a monotone voice win reading???contests.Actually,I think the monotone(and slight British accent 8O )just made them remember my name. It's a little spooky. :D

What is with Aspies and accents? I have one that I didn't notice until yesterday and my daughter talks like she is from Boston. She started it when she started talking and we don't know anyone from the States, let alone Boston. Merle, has one (or so I hear) and another WP member has a British accent and she's Canadian, too. (I also discovered that I have lilt to my voice that would irritate the heck out of me if I had to listen to it for any length of time. 8O )

Quatermass, I watch Dr. Who when I have time and it doesn't bother me when it is all one show. I just think the bits and pieces make the violent parts stand out and seem worse than they are. And I am a big sissy when it comes to violence, I admit it. :D
