I just tell the truth. I'd rather have others tell me the truth as well, good or bad. Being nice and polite can make people feel better, but it's fake and would not make any difference. I personally would feel more hurt if someone noticed but didn't tell me about something I've done wrong and later I would make the same mistake and another person would mention it. When other people don't tell you the truth, it's like deception.

If you've got nothing good to say to someone, don't say anything at all.

I don't tell obese people that they look like fat pigs when I see them walking down the street. How would that be any benefit to them? Sure, it's good to be honest to people if it'll benefit them in some way, but if it will only hurt, don't say anything.

Taken the other day, me and my two youngest.
my 13 year old son who is 5'8" and my 12 year old daughter who is 5'8.5", I am 6'7" by comparision.
She is teasing me about my hair because it is rarely this short.

Sometimes it has to be said, saying nothing at all will feed to their delusions. If they don't find out now, it'll bite them in the arse sooner or later. She doesn't need to get offended though, we all have faults that we can nitpick. For example: I've my fatness, mathgirl has her baggy eyes, you have your massive chin.

Just because a though pops into your head doesn't mean should say it, I can't go up to a person with a Down Syndrome child and say "Hey! Your kids r*t*rd*d!" or go up to a black person and say "Hey your a N*gg*r!" then s/he could sue for racism or punch me in the face.
