When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Not formally diagnosed (just started the process). I was a aware for a few years, but knowing and recognizing issues make it harder to deal with without assistance. My great grandmother also was likely Autistic. She was described as living in solitary for many years of her adulthood and researched/memorized/relayed information on the encyclopedia.

Five things I can't live without: computer, internet, a nice view out the window, music, ample space outdoors as a buffer zone from neighbors. I used to live in a flat and bumping into neighbors and the janitor everyday, sometimes more than once on the same day was chit-chat torture.

Plans for the future? start a company of my own that allows me to have freedom from routines, office work and bosses. Another plan is to work towards living off the grid as much as possible.

My name is Pearl. I am twenty-five, and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I don't wish to get any more specific than that on the internet. I really enjoy Pathfinder, and I also like to knit. I like to sing and people have said I have a nice voice, but I wouldn't claim to be very good at it. I'm a writer and artist but I don't consider those hobbies. I'm here because I met a guy today while helping my mom move and he recommended this site to me, and because I've been diagnosed with aspergers. I was diagnosed when I was twenty-four.

Favorite subjects? I assume you mean in school. I am not in grade school anymore, but linguistics fascinates me: the roots of words and how languages change over time and diverge into separate languages. I'm not very good at learning other languages, though. Year/Grade is graduated, thus moot.

What music I like depends on my mood. I enjoy Celtic traditional, particularly the groups Steeleye Span and Pentangle. The rest of what I like is hard to pin down to a genre or even a list of genres because I'm not good with figuring out what fits into what genre when it is more nuanced than rock, rap, country, jazz, etc. Subgenres elude me, but only in defining them. I like Modest Mouse, Pink Floyd, Cake, Kate Bush, Radiohead - particularly fond of Radiohead, The Black Keys, Electric Six, MGMT, RJD2, Macklemore . . . and so on and so forth.

As for books, I am a fan of the works of Terry Pratchett. I find some inspiration from Moonlight and Vines by Charles De Lint. I've read through all of Sherlock Holmes, a few Oz books, Dune books . . . Douglas Adams . . . I'll stop there.

As for TV: Misfits, Poirot, Star Trek are the latest interests, though I've had many over the years. My love for Star Trek has been the most enduring. I watched it as a kid and I'm rewatching it on Netflix, specifically Next Generation, though I plan to just continue on chronologically from there. The original was before my time and I do not disdain it for that but I haven't gotten into it as much.

Movies: Amelie, Toys (with Robin Williams), and more that slip my mind whenever I have to make this sort of list

I don't play an instrument, nor do I play sports.

Family for me right now is my mom, my fiance, and my in laws. (Future in laws I suppose you'd say.) I'm an only child and I have disassociated myself from my father and don't connect much with most of my relatives. Generally on good terms with my mom's side. Civil.
