Hey! I kinda feel sorry for ol' Alex. They never taught him the words for "Need a little help here!" It would really suck to be in like, say Italy, having a heart attack, and only knowing 150 or so words. And trying to convey "I'd really like to live to see tomorrow", but only be able to manage "See you tomorrow. I love you." with a whole lot of frantic confusing pantomime added and facial expressions trying to indicate that you can't breathe... ...you know, pointing your feathers at your throat and making slashing movements across your throat, and bugging your eyes out while yelling "SEE YOU TOMORROW!! !" and watching the dimwit in front of you, clueless, trying to shove a cracker into your mouth, and pounding on your chest, tongue protruding, indicating your heart has stopped, yelling "I LOVE YOU!! !! !!", only to watch the human wiggle his finger at you through the cage...

... final thoughts being: "Dadgum a**holes! Way to go! Teach me "Pretty Polly" and "Wanna cracker?" Helps a whole bleepin' bunch guys, thanks HEAPS! !! Never occurred to you to teach me "HELP!! ! %&*@#! !! !"

Perhaps reika can give us an on the spot report of the show. I've only seen the Northern Lights once in full glory. (not counting the stripper I used to date that went by Arora Borealis.) I'll never forget it, either of them. What a show, what a show.

Postie, Only you would use the Northern Lights and a stripper in the same sentence!
I was born WWAAYYY up north and the light shows from August on were beautiful. When they are strong you can hear a soft humming that is very soothing.

Not too sure of conditions on your side of PA, but the skies over York County are cloudy. Maybe Bessedmom might see something
up in her neck of the woods.

I once saw one. I was on a plane, on my way from basic training to what they called AIT training in the Army, en route from N. Carolina to Indiana, and for some reason there was an Aurora Borealis in the sky. I didn't know that they occurred in that part of the world, and it was beautiful.

After watching this video, I see what the real problem was. Alex needed a speech pathologist to help him out. He could say some things clearly, but other things he could only approximate - and they just let it slide. He calls car keys "ketchup", soft corn "sawcor", cold ""coal", wood "whoop" or "woot"... so in the end he did tell them he needed help, but no one understood him.

He started off by saying, "Hey! I'm feeling pain radiating up into my jaw and down my left wing here."
And they heard, "Tucktucktuck Eeleepay Radiate up Mijondow Milefwe ear."

And they said, "Yes! Car keys!"

And Alex said, "You know? it feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest, or a tight band - like a boa constrictor is squeezing the living crap out'ta me!"
And they heard, "Youno Ifeelike an elifats Teeo miches o a TY bad like a bo a comstrikto z kweezee the livi crap ottami!"

And they said, "Yes! Ketchup!"

And Alex said, "Look how wet my feathers are! I'd say this is profuse sweating! Profuse I say! Don't I look wet to you?! This is wet, wouldn't you say?..."

I have seen them a couple of times here and I would guess they would have had to be really strong to show here at all. But I recall that night in Syracuse NY, man what show, I drove outside the city to get a way from the lights. I had no idea what they could be like. Intense, just plain intense. Well they both were

Blessedmom, she was a wonder, just a brilliant woman. I know what stripper brings to most peoples minds, but she had a mind and it was like coming home to WP. So refreshing. A huge gulp of fresh air. Beauty and brians and we meshed on the mental and the physical. But like all such friendships in my life, while fleeting, she hasn't forgotten, nor have I. We're still together in many ways. True friends, while rare in my life, are like that, it is quiet correct to part ways, it's just what we do. It was she that turned me on to the Bhagavad-Gita and the Damapada.

I think you mentioned it before, but I forgot. What was your MOS? Mine isn't listed anymore, but it was a combo of these two 16P (pappa) CHAPARRAL Crewmember / 16R (romeo) VULCAN Crewmember. I should know just by your use of Indiana what yours most likely is, but don't reacall it.

It was Personnel Administration/Administrative Specialist. That was at Ft. Benjamin Harris, btw.

Who needs to see a comedy show when we see the antics of Chuck, Nan and Blessed Mom. And Blessed Mom, you are as much to blame as the other two!

I've just popped in to see how everyone is. But I'm alone - all alone.

Was Alex the parrot for real??
