What is your first name: It's Sam.

Age: 21 years old.

Location: Belgium.

Hobbies and Interests: Mostly Anime. I like talking about psychological & philosophical stuff. I'm not that rational, I'm bad with numbers.
I love Aspie girls, because I can relate to them, and they tend to be really kind. We're also able to help each other with all those deep-seated things.

Why are you here: I was interested in what kinds of questions people had regarding Asperger's.
I was also wondering whether I'm able to relate much easier with other Aspies than NTs even if our lifestyles/interests are different.
Answer might be yes.

When were you diagnosed: When I was 10, but it felt rushed. I do believe I'm a mild Aspie but I don't tie myself down to it way too much.

Favorite subjects: English class was my favorite, even though they kept focusing on British English instead of a more general form.

Year/Grade: I quit during middle school.

Favorite music: Pink Floyd. I can enjoy music from all sorts of genres.

Books: Reading books makes me sleepy. I did read the Harry Potter books when I was young.

TV shows/Movies: The Anime called WataMote is my obsession, it's about an Aspie girl dealing with the woes of high school. I've got other Anime, usually they're "Slice of Life", in the vein of sitcoms. I've got many favorite movies. One of them is "Enemy Mine".

Instrument: I tried playing the guitar but it gets me too frustrated because others can play it much better. Especially when you watch talented people.
I call it the "YouTube Effect". You'll never live up to those showing off their mad skills in a video online.

Do you like sports? I love watching sports, but I wasn't good at them myself.

Family: I have a few siblings, but I have many aunts and cousins. I can always rely on my family, I'll be alright as long as they're here.

Clothing: It's simple. Jogging pants at home, otherwise, blue jeans. I wear ordinary clothing, at least it's never old-fashioned.

How did you find this website: Was looking for a site about Asperger's. Some blog linked to this website or something.

Job: I've never worked. I wouldn't mind working, I don't want to end up being on welfare, hopefully I can find work I'm useful at.

Plans for the future: Hopefully I can be useful to people. I wish there were people outside my family I could get close to.

Any comments: I love it when people send me messages.

Favorite subjects: Maths and History

Year/Grade: NA

Favorite music: I don't have a particular style of music but my fav band is tool.

Books: Anything fantasy/Scifi/Fiction with a good story line and well written. The only books I can't stand are the ones that replace a good story line with 'character relations'.

TV shows/Movies:

Instrument:

Do you like sports? Not really a sports fan.

Family: 1 sister, 3 half brothers, 2 step brothers and a step sister.

Clothing: optional? jks anything that easy, PJ's preferred

What is your first name? Julio

Age: 20

Location: Texas

Hobbies and Interests: Guitar and bass playing, some drawing, some politics, some paper airplane making, music, some cooking

Why are you here? Find other aspies, find some information that I can use to help me succeed out in the real world

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was 9 years old

Favorite subjects: Law, estimating, economics, history

Year/Grade: College senior, majoring in Construction Science

Favorite music: a lot of Heavy Metal (Running Wild, Death, Battlecross, Agalloch, Amon Amarth, Gorguts, Ghost BC, Razor, Trouble, Voivod, Kreator, Sodom, Saxon), some Country (George Strait, Garth Brooks, Roger Creager, Joe Diffie, David Allan Coe, Townes Van Zandt, The Civil Wars) and some chill mostly-indie stuff (Now Now, Warpaint, The Raconteurs, Company of Thieves, Massive Attack, Chvrches, Tancred)
But I'm always looking for new music to check out

Books: The Pillars of the Earth, Treasure Island, World War Z, Man Economy and State, historical things, the Bible's got some great stories in it

TV shows/Movies: Parks & Rec, The Walking Dead, Let's Go To Prison, Hot Rod, Billy Madison, The Three Amigos, The Rules of Attraction

Instrument: Guitar, it's fun to play and you can get a lot of sounds out of it

Do you like sports? I like hunting and kayaking and fishing, and some baseball

Family: I've got like 50 cousins living in mostly Central Texas, a Grandma who's the best at cooking and jerky making, Mom, Dad, and two younger sisters

Clothing: Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, button-down shirts, slip-on shoes and boots, normal guy stuff

How did you find this website? googling Aspergers things a long time ago

Job: unemployed full time student, but looking for a part time job in the construction industry, maybe assisting the manager with submittal reviews, daily reports, and other business things, maybe assisting subcontractors with hands-on work

Plans for the future? Get my BS degree, do some civil/industrial work in the Construction industry, maybe open a pizzeria. Find a nice woman, get married and raise a family. Maybe do some libertarian activism on the side

Any comments? Having Asperger's makes it a little harder to make and keep friends, do networking, and generally be presentable. I accept nothing less from myself than to do those things anyway. I have a deep respect for hard work, personal responsibility, and honor, even though I may not always embody these principles, it's what I'm working towards. I try to follow Jesus in my life, but I don't mind if you don't share my belief or intent

What is your first name? "J.P." I'm male.

Age: I hope I can connect with people of all ages on this site. I am 43, but I really don't feel it.

Location: In the mountains.

Hobbies and Interests: I spend almost every waking hour that I am home on the internet- mostly reading, but sometimes playing Candy Crush or watching a Youtube video. When I am not on the internet I am outside looking at plants. When I am away from home, you will often find me at a plant nursery or the garden section of a big box store. I am obsessed by the ways that plants mutate and I seek out novel plant mutations or chimeras. Lots of other things interest me though. Anything biotech or otherwise scientific, especially biology. I like to read about other countries and various cultures, languages and world religions. Psychological and social phenomena. Art. I tend to follow politics and am very much a liberal. I'm an armchair activist, following environmentalism and equality issues for all classes of people and signing petitions. Oh, and recently, I started to transition to veganism, but I hope I will never be as intolerant as some vegans seem to be. I am very interested in lucid dreaming as well.

Why are you here? I hope to learn things. Maybe I will feel comfortable enough to post things I wouldn't post elsewhere. Maybe I can make new friends. I have always sucked at making friends.

When were you diagnosed?: I've just taken a few tests online that suggest I am neurodiverse in the last few days. I may talk to my psychiatrist about it if I get up the nerve. I was diagnosed as Bipolar in June of 2009 when I was hospitalized with psychosis. I am also diagnosed with Generalized anxiety and Panic disorder. I do pretty well, but I do depend a bit on my partner to get me thru the rough parts.

Favorite subjects: I went to college right after highschool and majored in Creative Writing and also Philosophy, but dropped out as a Junior. Before I had that psychosis in '09, I was at it again at a community college, taking classes in Biotechnology.

Year/Grade: I want to go back to school really bad, There isn't a program that interests me anywhere around where I live though.

Favorite music: Casually lots of stuff but I'm completely obsessed with Bjork. "Earth Intruders" is the name of one of her songs.

Books: I hardly read books. I would like to read some text books on my special interests, but they are very expensive. I have a few older ones, but I would be more excited about having up-to-date information.

TV shows/Movies: Grimm. True Blood. Big Bang Theory. Big Brother. I don't know which movies to choose. Sometimes its hard for me to follow a whole movie. I might lose interest or get the characters mixed up.

Instrument: Voice, at least when I'm alone. I really want to acquire and learn the Hang. I started to teach myself piano once and I got a lot further than I thought I would.

Do you like sports? Not really. I enjoy watching the diving, skating, and gymnastics whenever the Olympics are going on. The closest I ever came to enjoying doing a sport myself was when I did archery as a teen.

Family: I live with my (male) partner of 16 yrs, a dog and a tarantula. My parents, brother and sister are all still alive, but I don't see them much as they live several states away.

Clothing: At home I'm always in a pair of scrub bottoms and a tee. When I go out, its normally jeans and a polo. My look is kind of blah, but I despise shopping for clothes. I admire people who look really stylish, but I don't have the money, patience, or body for it.

How did you find this website? Googled either Aspergers or Autism.

Job: I got laid off earlier this month. Part of what I did was working with adults who are differently-abled. I worked closely with an autistic guy and became fascinated by how his mind worked. I started to research it, and it slowly dawned on me that I shared a lot of characteristics with the neurodiverse. It was the best job I ever had. All of my previous jobs have involved working with the public, which I now consider a nightmare scenario and will avoid like the plague.

Plans for the future? Ultimately, I want to run my own plant tissue culture laboratory. I am already working at developing new plants for the gardening market. I want to patent them, mass produce them, and then sell them wholesale. I wouldn't be unhappy tissue culturing transgenic plants on a contract basis for a pharmaceutical company either. I would especially like to hire people who are differently-abled to assist me. I need more education. Before I run my own lab, I wouldn't mind working at some other form of biotechnology. I'm sure the experience might make getting a business loan a little easier. I also hope to travel the world a little with my partner.

Any comments? I'm excited to have found you guys. I've had this site up on my browser for three or four days and only clicked on two or three pages. I'm usually one to click from link to link with abandon, but for some reason I feel overwhelmed by the idea of this website. Confession: I've spent hours on this one post, hoping to get it just right.
