Sounds so much like the York County Fair we just had a couple of weeks ago. I didn't go because of my aversion to crowds
and loud noises. :(

by the time I got to Woodstock we had to park the car at the road juncture of Bethel and the farm road, so all those people that gathered there were kinda built up around me. I remember thinking I was going to freak out of my mind because of the noise and people and rain and mud but I must have made it through it by thinking creatively about it. I found roaming around in crowds is a wonderful way to be all by your self AND out among others. Just move quickly and people forget you went by. We didn't actually get out of there until a week after and hitched down to the Lower East Side. ..

that strategy held me in good stead at the Oregon Country Fair too. I found there are places at large gatherings where you can 'cool down' and get some sensory deprivation. I seek those out before all my coping skills are compromised. Some years I just don't go. . some years I do.

Well, that trip was almost fruitless. We went to the book store so that was good but they only had one of the two things I wanted. After that we went to the movies and were all settled with our drinks and snacks when the previews ended and we found out it was the wrong movie. Mom and I had been debating because apparently there are two movies called "The Kingdom". The one currently in theaters is about events in Saudi Arabia and the other is a foreign (to the US) film about a haunted hospital. I was sure about the first one being in theaters but mom saw the one about the hospital was playing. Well, to try and cut my babbling down, the descriptions were switched on the website we used. So she managed to convince me that the Saudi one had run its course and was replaced with the other.

So yeah, the manager was really nice and gave us vouchers to return at a different time. He even refunded our nachos without us asking.

It was also crowded so it feels like a lot of work just for a soda and some previews but now I'm home. *pets computer*

Back at the parents for supper. Had to fight the boys for the computer! So I'll be quick!

Baby cakes? AAAWWWWWWW! I like Swampblossom more and more all the time! :D

Lau, Thank you! :)

Merle, You know I can't stay away! I've just learned the whole Skype/MSN thing! And I'm way too nosy!!

I am feeling a whole lot better tonight! I went on a thrift store shopping spree this afternoon. I managed to get 3 pairs of coloured jeans (green, brown and tan) that look as if they've never been worn, 3 fancy blouses and 3 sweaters for work and 4 tops for lil' girl for $60.00. I'll be needing some nice clothes for the new me! I was so happy to be buying clothes that the throng of pushy thrift shoppers didn't bother me. I also colored my hair a nice golden brown and I think I'm going to get a new hair style! This may not be so bad after all!

Seems like Blessedmom and I are on the same page! I have colored the gray in my hair, and dug out my jeans. Have been going through a personal renaissance of some kind, strange but nice. Going to another meet-up next week. Pot luck, this time! Oh, and Mom, thanks for that Nancy Sinatra post! I love that song!

Yeah it's kind of spooky for another reason to me. Think back on the last time any of you thought of Nancy Sinatra. It you never have or it hasn't since her singing career, you come close to mine. I thought of her on the 27th at about 5:30 in the morning and here she is. How could I be so exact in my time? Because I did a writing and I weeded out a reference to her looks and was doing it as a comparison to how another's face looked. Only her hair was jet black. I decided to throw away the written description, it wasn't fair to the one I was attempting to describe. I could have worked it in, but I didn't want try to validate it with a paragraph on how I viewed Nancy Sinatra either. (Poor Nancy the critics did beat her up some, but man, them white boots was hot, roflmao)

Lol, cute Nan, just cute. I would have to think on my excuses. I'm sure I could come up with more then 3. I will admit I didn't know what a baby cake was when she first knighted me with the honor. I deserved it, lol, I pinned SwampBlossom on her. I should be more careful of whom I pick on, some are sharper then I am.

I guess it was only a matter of time anyway. When Merle and I do our banter she can hear what goes on in the house. I'm sure it would have popped out sooner or later. Well it's here now, so have fun with it, just remember, pay backs can be a b***h.

What's new at Lake Whoop-Dee-Doo?
York County has decided to adopt Mark Haddon's book
"The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Nighttime" as the book
for the One Book One Community campaign.

i saw that picture and started to try to read the book cover, starting at the bottom right corner and going backwards, and then felt dumb because then i noticed the words are normal-way up and just the dog is on his head. so maybe the book is about a white cat turned inside out? shrug.

If you feel dumb then I feel stupid, I did the same thing. I was just sure the picture was upside down. Maybe it's one of the French shadow dogs. Hey!! It could happen.
