Hilarious yes. But worth 800.00 I could spend 5.00 on a used copy of the Kama Sutra and still be way ahead. 8O

Hey speaking of the Kama Sutra, look what I've stumbled upon in my never ending quest for information on the appropriate mating habits of Aspies. An on-line version translated by none other than "da da da da" Richard Burton. I wonder if he sneaks in any foot notes about Elizabeth's favorite positions. 8O My Bad.

not THAT Richard Burton! sheesh!

Sir Richard Francis Burton (1821-1890) frustrates simple description. Adventurer, linguist, scholar, swordsman, rogue, genius -- he possessed wild, monstrous talents and was burdened by defects nearly as grave. Continually at odds with the sentiments of his times, his translation of the Arabian Nights and sundry Indian and Persian amatory manuals scandalized society. At the same time, he was an unmistakable Victorian.

Ya know, I just heard from someone I knew about 30 years ago. Was bringing me up to speed on all the stuff that happened since I left there. Rudds was called something else then, and they didn't have bars on the windows. Which made it easier to bet on which one someone'd be hurled through on a Saturday night when the oilfield workers got paid in cash. Used to prop the door, too - took it off the hinges until closing time. Easier on the door. It's a good place to be from... far, far from. There's that old saying "you can never go home anymore"? Thank the gods.

Hi Pheonixiis Your very first post was to the dinos...nice. My daughter is 6 and Autistic and I'm 44 and as sure as possiable w/ out an official DX, that I have AS. (The more I read here at WP, the more I was like "OH, Crap, I do have it...crap NOT being my chosen explenative ) Now it's just kinda nice knowing theres a name for it (the way I am) and wishing I had known when I was younger.
I started reading way way way back and then finally admitted to lurking, and then jumped right in. Everyone here is VERY kind, helpful, and supportive.
I also LOVE horses (raised in KY) and used to show barrels, poles, hurdles, and flags. Also worked at the racetracks as a "Hotwalker, Groom, and Pony rider" (Keeneland, Churchill, River Downs, and Latonia)
I'm sure you'll enjoy any time you spend here, it's always intresting, informative, diverse, enlightening, and heart-warming. I LOVE having this socially gratifiying experience and I'm sure you will also.
Blessedmom, you have my "Utmost and Total Respect" for doing what your doing w/ 4 kids. My heart goes out to ya and my hat goes off to ya. And I thought it was hard w/ 1 ?!?!?

oh, Richie! I am so glad as I am not a James Taylor fan at all, either.. and found that it was not politic to mention it in a post Woodstock world.

AVG. Quite probably me.

So if it's not the machine, must be it's operator that has the virus.Windows still keeps trying to load some new something everytime I do anything...then tells me that it cant find what it says it is loading(or that it isnt compatable software)
Give us the details, and we'll sort it out.

Does anyone know about a website called Regcure. They said they found 700+ problems in my computer(that was free)but want me to pay to fix them,(of course).

I would strongly recommend that you steer clear of this lot. A quick Google is all you need to do, to put you off them.
I found the glowing report on it.
(I won't give the link, in case there's anything nasty there, and I'm using Seamonkey/Linux and immune, versus anyone using Windows/IE and vulnerable).
The glowing report is on a site that also directs me to AVG as a good anti-virus.
However, the site directs me to the pay-for version of AVG, and does so carrying along an "affiliateid", which I'm sure would result in a nice cut going back to the referrer.
Other Google hits show Regcure to be at least dodgy, if not downright dangerous.

So.... go for Ad-Aware Free and Spybot (always free).

Update and run them once in a while (fortnight, say). They trap a whole bunch of stuff, and differ slightly on what they think is nasty. I let Spybot zap everything it finds. With Ad-Aware, you just want to tick its "Critical" stuff. (Right click and "Select All".)

I aslo use Spybot's "Advanced Mode" to stop everything in the system start up list, except AVG and one or two others that I know I want. That includes stopping all the ones at the end of the list , where they look as if Windows could not possibly run without them. It does.

You may want to run CCleaner as well. I never bothered with that, as I keep my system fairly tidy.

[Ya know, half the planet has no idea who James Taylor is. None ... ok, one,... of my coworkers knew who he was when I snuck a CD on one day at lunch on another computer. (Mine doesn't have any speakers.) ]

But doesn't this mean you won't be sent to your room without your granola and beansprouts now?

Reika, Thank you so much! That means alot to me!! I think with 4 kids you keep on going because you are too busy to realize that you don't know what you're doing!  And it is easy to delegate the older ones to help with the younger ones.

Horses and books were all I had. Got my SSN when I was 15 to get a "Real" job (hoeing tabacco since I was 12) to make payments on my first horse. She cost me $500.00 and I paid $100.00 a month for her. That was a lot of money back then, espicially to a 15 year old kid. She got stolen so I went to Latonia racecourse looking for her,(thought she may be being used for a "Pony Horse") ran into to Steve Cauthran (he had been in my 4-H group) and he saw me crying and got me a job as a "Hotwalker" and thats how it started. I never did find my horse and have never owned another one. It broke my heart.
Now I'm going to tell you all something I'v never told ANYONE except my mom (not until 15 years later, and she thought it was funny that I'd pulled it off) and I hope none of those people EVER see this. If any of the people I fooled DO see this, I'm sorry. (sorta, it was fun!)
I pretended to be "Deaf" for the whole time I was at the tracks. (I'd taken sign language classes cause I had a crush on a deaf boy) Told them all I "read lips" and was VERY convincing cause noone ever found out about it. It was really liberating, I did't have to talk to anyone and people would say "any and everything" to you. The best part was that people left you alone and I guess from a physicological level it gave me a reason to justify "Not fitting in" cause I knew by then that I did't fit in anywhere. Did that make any sense? Lots of stories I could tell about the track. I can cuss fluently in spanish cause of it. Panamian jockeys. Theres a good joke about jockeys but this is a family site :D
