I think about eight or nine out of the top 50 members with the most posts are from the UK. Granted, not all of them are still posting but if you read enough threads and stay around long enough you will fairly easily see UK members, both male and female.

Also, is there a way of seeing if members are boys or girls? I'm too shy to look at profiles.

Eh? Why would you be too shy? Just click on them! It's not like you'll be emailing them?

No, to find out their gender you'll have to take a look at their profiles. Not all members actually disclose their sex in their profiles though.
