I never thought about my avatar having an influence on how people see or respond to my posts. Anybody see my nine tailed kitsune from Naruto as negative?

i wish i had nine tales

I did a sicentific, careful, investigation and found that among the latest new members,
5 are female
4 are male.

:o

So yes, a lot of females are here, and still they say that AS is ~4 times more common among men. But don't compare this forum to the average BBS. The Average BBS is about some nerdy tpoic, while this is mainly a social site.

Avatar... i have to pick an avatar...

I think that's a coincidence. There are plenty of women here, but from the looks of things the great majority are men

I'm not so sure. It would seem that four times more males exhibit symptoms to such a degree that they obtain a diagnosis. The females just get ignored.

Btw, i like avatars with labyrinths or other fun games in them :P
But i don't have the greatest eyes (have glasses) so i cannot walk through your labyrinth. PLEASE fix it!

Oh, i have a weird photo of me and RMS. I might choose it as avatar, since i really care about Free Software and i find RMS a bit funny.

Pros:
RMS is funny.
I look funny.

Cons:
RMS' beard may be a bit scary, but if you can stand Sweeney Todd, you must be able to bear with RMS.
If i upload a photo of myself, internet ninjas will reveal my IRL identity.
I would seem like a fanboy.

I aim to amuse... :)

PS. With my Compiz-fusion screen magnifier... I get all sorts of interesting Moiré effects as I move around.

I am stunned as I sit here and watch all the guys turn into girls. Obviously, avatars fool me.
I'd like to have a cool avatar like you guys do, but everything I tried to input failed. No, don't bother trying to teach me how. I won't get it. I'll have to wait til my programmer son bothers to visit and see if he will do it for me.
I don't like the violent avatars. I love the funny ones.

In case it amuses you... Image

(Right click on it, save it somewhere, then go change your avatar and upload it, from where you saved it - as I say - if you find it amusing.)

Yes, I think there is an influence, but I see it as a minor/trivial one (unless the avatar is offensive).

If you see an avatar that you think is offensive, please report it. They are against the WP rules.

I'm speaking on hypothetical terms here, admittedly. I haven't seen one to date on this forum but I'll report it if I ever do.

About a year ago, we actually had a troll on here whose avatar featured certain unmentionable body parts.

Yours reminds me of Mr. Gibbs from Arsenic and Old Lace. I keep thinking "Don't drink it!"

I think that your posts will be in script dialog form.

Edit: And that there will be an auditory component.
