Maybe this would be a good name for your cyber-zine.

It is snowing here, again! On the plus side, I went to bed early last night because I was feeling horrible. I woke up this morning with a full blown virus of some sort. Bad thing...... NO  I called the dayhome parents and told them I was ill, I took the kids to school and I sat down and read some more of "Look Me In the Eye"! It is such a good book that I just had to read the last half! :) So 4 hours, one package of lozenges and 3 cups of tea later, I am finished it. I recommend it to everyone, and now I think I'll read "Running With Scissors". I watched the movie but I always like books better.

Issues With Issues...... :)

Feeling bad for you Blessedmom, dreading all the winter "colds-to-come" since my daughter goes to school, I'm gonna catch them all. (Mentally trying to "bulk up" my immune system now)
Krex, I would love to help you and put forth ideas, but I'm severly lacking in creativity, and KNOW it, so I'm unwilling to "put myself out there" like that.
Not much new here. No snow yet, just "termination dust" 44 degrees, (still t-shirt weather :D ha ha but true, thats what I took my daughter to school in. sweat pants, and a short-sleeve t-shirt)
Trying to MAKE myself bag up a bunch of her old toys and donate them to "The ARC" they will then be sold at the local thrift stores and can "Return from whence they came." I buy at thrift stores too cause I know I'm going to ruin my clothes at work . And my one of my daughters nicknames is "The Destroyer"
I just had to go get a new cell-phone a couple days ago cause she has broken the last 2 in 6 months or less. I asked for "The Cheapest one possiable that will store my contacts." That way I won't feel so bad if it gets broken, oh I mean WHEN it gets broken. I'v never sent a "Text message" in my life, so basic is good for me. I also never set my voicemail account up. I tell people straight up. "I NEVER check it so don't bother, if its important, call me back." Can you tell I hate the phone? So tecnologically inept, thanks for putting up w/ me.
Gotta go drop the toys and old clothes off before she gets home and sees the bag so I'll check in later. When is Nannorob due back?

I guess something like "The Looking Glass" would be horrifically trite?

Sorry to hear you are sick, blessedmom. Here, it has been thundering and raining like crazy for several days now. I had to cancel my counseling appointment, because of it. My house has a metal roof, so the sound can be deafening. I have to listen to music with my noise canceling headphones when it rains that hard. Still not very used to Florida rain. It comes down so hard and intense! It is so cool to think that while it rains here, it is snowing where you are. I like snow better. Whatever you do, take care of that virus!

Another 85+ degree day here in South Central PA..... At the end of the month flu shots will be given out where I work.
Right about to start a little project of my own here..... If all goes well I'll be back soon.

I dunno. Having an excuse to sit around and read could be addictive. I may have to start thinking up creative new viruses. (Just kidding, i'm not good at sitting for long. )

I will trade you any day. I love the rain! When I was young I was the only one playing outside whenever it rained. Maybe I was a duck in a past life. :?

I will have to remember to get a flu shot this year. Thanks for the reminder. Between my kids and the dayhome kids, my house is one big virus community.

As for your 85+degree day, :P ! :)

My 16 year old son just had a suggestion for the title of the cyber-zine.

AWI: Authors With Issues

(He says he can say that because he has Asperger's, too.)

Thanks everyone for the feedback.I am still "stuck on" the scales name but I also like a combination of several of your suggestions.......

"Issues With Eye Contact" has a nice sound to me as does "I Contact".....

As far as the why of AS fish and NT birds.......it was completely "unconscious",a bit like interpreting dreams to say why.I didnt think the bird or fish had more value then the other.I am not a huge fan of either(though the raven is my totem)....I like fur.

On the other hand(just to free associate).....fish travel in schools and birds in flocks(like sheep),birds have a "pecking order",I dont know how fish relate, birds rely on their eyesight fish "sense" with their whole bodies, birds are very noisy.....Both are preditors to eat, both would not do as well living in the others natural environment,....are both cold blooded?I think both lay eggs? Both have individuals in the perspective "species" that are very different from each other. But the symbolism for me isnt really in which qualitites each species posses but that they shouldnt be measured based on the skills of the others...fish swim better, birds fly better.

As far as us having a mix of AS/NT traits=feathers and scales, that is part of the point. All life has some connections. The point is not to judge one species skills against anothers. They both have their "special things" and the uniqueness is the beauty of life.

Blessedmom...I hope you are feeling better soon.( I also like days when I can call in sick and read all day, supprising that I didnt become a hypochondriac).Off topic,do you have a 1blessedmom account on fliker?I saw some great photos there which I think? are yours....care to submit any for the mag?

Perhaps....."Embrace Neurodiversity"...though I would imagine that is copyrighted.

Also, this is not just going to be a cyber-magazine but a print one.The first year will be 4 issues, the first one free and hopefully 6 issues the next year.

I don't have a flickr account but I went and looked up the username and she does have some nice photos. I need a better camera to take pictures like that.

I just drove home through traffic in that Florida rain. Yuck! Though I am used to it because I've lived here my whole life. At least it is not a Florida Thunderstorm. Those are terrible.

----

An example of how loyalty sometimes wins out over preservation of self and sanity:

My best friend really wants me to go the "The Barn" with her and two other people. It is an actual barn that was at some point turned into a Bar/Club/Honky Tonk. I haven't been there for almost a year and was quite pleased with that trend. If I get anxious at the supermarket why would I want to go to a bar? Drinking to relax isn't really going to be an option either because I have to be able to drive later.

I might try to sneak a book in but last time by friends didn't let that happen. They don't know about AS nor do I think they would understand, so oh well. At least she said I didn't have to dance when she was trying to convince me. I won't forget that part of the deal.

Well, it seems to have let up, here. Once in a while, it'll pour down, and then stop. I hope this deals with the drought issues, somewhat.
