I noticed that you listed "sherlock" both as an interest and your least favorite TV show. Was that a test to see if we'd notice?
Perhaps you love to hate it. I'm partial to Elementary.
I'm very familiar with the feeling you're having in regards to your plans for the future. I hope it gets better for you soon, as it did for me very recently. It helped me to talk to people about how I was feeling, once I figured out how to properly describe it.

What is your first name?: Jim
Age: 45
Location: Delaware, United States
Hobbies and Interests: Varied... Woodworking, tinkering, designing and inventing (just have to actually complete one of them), gardening, archery, weapons of all kinds, history, science, math, reading, economics, sociology, playing strategy games, getting sidetracked because something else caught my interest.
Why are you here?: Trying to figure things out. Looking for behavior patterns that most closely approximate my own. People that understand that I am different from the norm because they are also a variant from the norm. Have two children diagnosed with ASD. One of them acts very much like I did at her age.
Metaphysically, still just trying to figure things out.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Diagnosed with ADD as child, personality disorder (unspecified) in 1991 (3 years before the DSM IV came out). Have since been diagnosed with anxiety and long-term depression, an unspecified learning disability (probably dyspraxia) and they have not ruled out ASD. Waiting to be tested for that.
Favorite subjects: Almost any subject is enjoyable. It depends on the format. I do have a predilection toward math and science, but I enjoy history and like to write as long as I am not forced to.
Year/Grade: AAS Electronics/Instrumentation, BS Business Management (suits me because it is a very general degree)
Favorite music: Classical to Death Metal and just about anything in between. If the song or piece moves me, I don't care about the genre.
Books: Almost all of the ones with words in them. I tend to shy away from romance novels as the mushy stuff makes me a bit uncomfortable, except when it is me directing the mushy stuff at my wife...weird, I know. I tend to read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy, but I am just as likely to be reading a classic or nonfiction of some sort. I do love reading stuff from authors like Donald Kagan, Ian W. Toll, and Jared Diamond. I know the last one sound like a jewelry store, but he is an actual author.
TV shows/Movies: Action, comedy, a few select romantic comedies (what?), crime drama, horror. Hate drama for the sake of drama and reality shows.
Instrument: My voice only. Can't make my hands do the intricate stuff(neither automatically nor quickly) that is generally required to play any instrument well. Have been a lead singer in a cover band as well as a tenor soloist in church.
Do you like sports?: Could not care less about team sports... I do appreciate a good game in which the teams are well matched, and it becomes a duel between coaching skills and team strategies. I used to enjoy individual sports but am now unable to participate much.
Family: My family is the one that I chose (who, happily, chose me back), and our children. I need no one else. I like other relatives, but can only deal with them in small doses. Pretty much like I handle the rest of the world.
Clothing: Yes I wear them, but only because I must.
How did you find this website? Doing some online tests, shortly after I had an epiphany that I may be on the spectrum.
Job: Currently a management analyst, last prior job was accountant, before that was an admin assistant and published writer. And so on... Did 20+ years in the USN, had many different jobs there
Plans for the future? Buy a farm and retire to doing a little bit of everything, every day, for the rest of my life.
Any comments? Thanks to everyone who has put this website together and posted on it. It is only the second time in my life that I feel I somewhat fit in as an individual. The first time it happened, I married her. The military does not count as it provides its own common ground and reasons for unity.

Why are you here?
Well, I had a lot of trouble with Asperger's as a kid because I wasn't diagnosed. After my diagnosis and through going to college and living independently and having jobs, I learned how to blend in. People don't know I have Asperger's when they meet me because I am so good at acting neurotypical. I don't want to do that anymore. It's exhausting and it doesn't gain me any true friendships. I am very lucky to have a couple good friends and a girlfriend who know the real me. Now I feel like I want to meet more people like myself who have a diagnosis because that is where the realness is.
When were you diagnosed? 18 years old. Senior year of high school.
Instrument: Piano and Percussion but I am out of practice.
Do you like sports? Nope!
Family: A sister who is 27 and both biological parents. I live states away from them though.
Clothing: Huge t-shirt collection. I prefer mens clothing. Cargo shorts are my favorite. I like to customize most of everything. I do dyes, tie dye, home screen printing, and sewing to make my stuff more "me."
How did you find this website?
I had an account when I was a teenager but I don't remember the login and I would rather start fresh on a new account as an adult anyway.
Job: Freelance art and film
Plans for the future? I am trying to earn a world record and that is my biggest goal. Otherwise just basic survival.
I think i remember you the first time you were here. Welcome back!
