Hobbies and Interests: Nature, Hiking, very old radio components, some reading, a few record albums, weather/thunderstorms, solar/wind energy

Why are you here? The closest thing I could get to an in-person ASD group.

When were you diagnosed? 2003 when I was: y=2x + 16. The x still equals 9.

Favorite music: Classic rock and classic metal in the past, now it's an odd mix; Son Volt, Gary Numan, Warren Zevon.

Books: On The Road-Jack Kerouac, Wizard(Nikola Tesla biography)-Marc Seifer, The Corps series by W.E.B. Griffin, 1939 Standard American Encyclopedias and 1963 Britannica Encyclopedias, other older books

TV shows: Larry Sanders Show, Hogan's Heroes, A Million Little Things, Californication

Movies: Blazing Saddles, Airplane, Thank You For Smoking, Black Snake Moan, Hell or High Water

Instrument: I barely play bass guitar, I can do one blues progression

Do you like sports? Hockey, boxing, MMA, football, baseball on a sunny day

Plans for the future? Live in a smaller house than I have now with renewable independent power generation. Less overall maintenance, therefore I could afford to travel

Why are you here? Self diagnosed with myself with AS. Usually I don't engage with people on the internet, but decided that it might be good for me and my written english.

Favorite subjects: Science, philosophy, DIY, gardening, video games

Year/Grade: Dropped out from university

Favorite music: Mostly 70s-90s. Any band with unique style will do. Don't like modern generic music.

Books: Don't read fiction. The Republic, Plato.

TV shows/Movies: Any good tv series/movie. Pink Floyd – The Wall is my favorite. Some anime.

Why are you here? Diagnosed with Asperger's (now Autism). That's why I came here - the reason I stay here is it feels like home and family.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): 1997, at age 47.

Favorite subjects: This sounds like school, but I'll try. History. Reality (time/space, dimensions, quantum).

Year/Grade: I got as far as mid-uni.

Favorite music: 1950s, 1960s, Beatles, Queen, Pavarotti.

Books: Authors - Kurt Vonnegut, David Foster Wallace, the Bronte sisters, Shakespeare, Adams (Hitchhiker) - not in that order and many more.

TV shows/Movies: My eyes can't watch that stuff for more than 20 minutes, so I miss out. I liked A Beautiful Mind enough to watch all of it.

How did you find this website? I was intensely researching autism. I discovered I had been finding this site numerous times without realizing it.

Job: Historical Interpreter (I give presentations. I'm very good at one sided public speaking). Just recently: Barista (I'm not so good at improvisational dialogue though which makes this job harder)

Plans for the future? I want to make a commercially viable pop album to escape poverty. My contingency plan is to immigrate to Germany for their university system to acquire a profitable degree that will enable me to basically hermit away.

Any comments? I've been obsessing over the genetics and neurochemistry of poverty and inequality lately. It's really negative for my mental health and has been provoking a lot of misanthropic sentiments. I'm increasingly viewing class warfare as a genetic proposition (as opposed to fundamentally being an economic or political one). I can't stand knowing what I do about it...and I can't stop myself from learning more about it. It genuinely hurts.
