What is your first name? My first name is Candace.

Age: I'm 17 years old.

Location: Washington State, USA

Hobbies and Interests:
Some of my favorite hobblies/interests include: crosscountry running, playing trombone, Christianity
(and reading the Bible), drawing, the arts, I just got introduced to physics from my math fair project
(solenoids) which have proven interesting, reading books, and Asperger's Syndrome.

Why are you here?
Only God can answer that. If you mean on WrongPlanet, I'm here because I like socializing with other
aspies, and I don't have anywhere else to socialise with other aspies.

When were you diagnosed?: I was diagnosed when I was 9 years old (1998), but I know that
I was diagnosed with another form of autism at the age of 2 or 3.

Favorite subjects:
I enjoy music, art, English (I guess), math, history, science, and history. If you mean ultimate interests, I
would probably say art and music are my ultimate favorite subjects. Band is my most favorite class each
day (haven't been able to take an art class yet, but I still love the arts).

Year/Grade: I'm in the class of 2007, and I'm currently a junior in highschool (or 11th grade).

Favorite music: Some of the music I enjoy include: classical, jazz, Christian, and some funk.

Books: Some of the books I enjoy reading are Gary Paulsen books, medieval history, Guiness Book of World Records,
Ripley's Believe It or Not, other fact books, WWII books, the Bible, and most recently my mother's chocolate book
(which shows pictures of chocolate recipes; delicious!). I also enjoy the running magazine called Northwest Runner,
and some novels (too many to say exactly which), plus the Harry Potter series.

TV shows/Movies:
I like watching the t.v. show House (my ultimate favorite show) and most recently 24, and Myth Busters.
There are too many movies that I like, but to name a few, I like "A Beautiful Mind", "The Shawshank
Redemption", "The Basket", "Everafter", "The Terminal", "Finding Neverland", "Pirates of the Caribbean", the
Harry Potter series, the Lord of the Rings series, and "Chronicals of Narnia".

Instrument: I play the tenor trombone (in jazz band and concert band).

Do you like sports?: I do like sports (more in the participating side). I like crosscountry and soccer mainly, but I've played
cricket once and I thought it was more fun than baseball! I also want to try rugby.

Family: I have lots of family that live in the Northwest (lots in Washington), but I also have lots of my mom side
dispersed around the entire United States (my dad's side is mainly around the Northwest because of my
Norwegian ancestry). I have a mom and dad (in the same house) with 2 older sisters (both are moved out), 2
younger brothers (and yes, we still live here), and 2 dogs and a hamster. I'm the middle child out of 5 children,
plus our 5-year-old nephew comes over on weekends.

Clothing: I mainly like wearing comfortable, tomboyish clothing. I'm not much of a girly dresser, yet sometimes I dress
like one. I like dressing in a t-shirt, jeans (sometimes sweats), mainly ankle socks, and some comfy
tenis-shoes (I tried Converse, but they were just awful for my feet). My clothing style includes a little bit of
punk because I enjoy wearing long-sleeve t-shirts under short-sleeved t-shirts. I could also say that my
clothing style is athletic a lot of the time.

How did you find this website? I was searcing one day for an aspie website, and I was blessed and found this one.

Job: I'm currently in the applying process (for McDonalds and Safeway so far).

Plans for the future?: I plan on going to college to become an art teacher (maybe; not too sure on a career choice at the
moment). I want to go to PLU or UPS (they're both private schools), so that I'd be in a smaller
environment and get to know my teachers better and they could help me with my learning needs. I'd
also like to live in England someday, which would be cool.

Any comments?:
I really like the site; I've found exactly what I looked for, and I get to talk to aspies almost everyday now.
It's nice knowing that there are other people like you, instead of wondering about that your entire life.
