Why are you here? Found so many helpful things on this website time after time so I finally decided to make an account and join the community! I am excited to meet other people like me as a lot of times I feel out of place.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Will be working on getting an official one next week!

Favorite subjects: Physics/Art

Year/Grade: Junior in college

Favorite music: Quebecois, Celtic, Class Rock, Everything. Love Bodh'aktan and Le Vent du Nord

Books: Mainly non-fiction (religion, science, informational), a fan of the Dan Brown books though.

TV shows/Movies: Criminal Minds, Monk, (Probably because I relate to well to Dr. Reid and Monk lol) Angels and Demons, 80s movies and shows (Remington Steele, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder, Quantum Leap, Mork and Mindy, everything)

Instrument: Accordion!! ! Piano and button (quebecois)

Family: Mom, Dad, two younger sisters

Clothing: free t-shirts and whatever pants I find. Fan of large flare jeans and tacky shirts (I have one with tiled hotdogs all over, and one with Edison invention schematics all over too)

Plans for the future? I don't know. Currently working on BFA Graphic Design and BA Physics. Maybe MA Physics? Plan to study over summer at EIFUQTR.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Self diagnosed in the late 1970s while reading about Asperger's. Only recently started being open about it.

Favorite subjects: Math, science, art., engineering

Year/Grade: Have MS in Electrical Engineering, BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering.

Favorite music: Classical

Books: Not a great reader due to vision problems. I have been almost continuous been listening to audio books, mainly while commuting, for like 30 years. Almost all are non-fiction but varied from humor to science. NeuroTribes helped get me to come out with my ASD.

TV shows/Movies: Not so much with richness of the internet these days. YouTube videos on whatever subject I'm studying at the time.

Instrument: Not much talent here

Do you like sports? I know this question really means "Do you like spectator sports". I am not a fan of any team and find it quite boring. This has been a major source of alienation for me.

Family: Had both parents, brother and sister, both older. Father died when I was 14. Only my mother showed signs of ND. My father was an alcoholic. Like I needed that to further mess with my personality . I have been married for 20 years and have 2 teen age daughters. One diagnosed ASD-1 one year ago.

Clothing: I largely avoid wool. Wool sweaters as a young child was torture.

How did you find this website? Goggle search while looking for local support groups.

Job: Electronics Engineer

Plans for the future? Retirement from a job that I no longer love. I just have to come up with a plan of what to do next.

Any comments? Been on here awhile now. Enjoying connecting with the tribe. Learning a lot about the range of ASD experiences. Hope I'll be able to share some wisdom too.
