Quote:
Well, no, the video that 'took off' is one I have since hidden. Forty thousand views and four thousand comments in less than forty hours, most of them extremely disparaging. It was neither political nor religious, yet oh, the hate was intense. After a few months of these same people returning nearly every day, I simply disabled the damned thing.
Hearing this bums me out but it doesn't surprise me. Intense hate, or hate of any degree, aimed in one's direction can not be a pleasant experience. I think I would become physically sick in that situation. But where does such hate come from? Does it just percolate in the environment and wait for a target? You seem like a strong person. Follow your instincts and your dreams. Devise and don a good suit of mental armor. Hate is not directed at mediocrity. If you shine, if you stand out, you will set off an alarm in the mind of the mediocre. This will cause turmoil, confusion, commotion.
One of my favorite quotes, though I can't for the life of me remember who said it:
"Nothing disturbs the clergy more than discovering a saint in the congregation."
