Does it infuriate any one else that Kevin Sorbo's Hercules is based more on Thesseus one of Hercules' friends than Hercules and yet is still called Hercules?

Chamoisee, I love goats. We always had a couple at the barns I boarded my horse. Goats are really good companions for horses. We even had one horse who wouldn't load in a trailer until the goat went first!

I check out the link, thanks for posting!

serine come from a character' name i created in a game (ultima online), i kept it within forum related to this game and it remained

in french behing serein mean behing quiet, adressed to a female it will still remain "she is serein", thought i translated it to "serine" as the game character was a female. Quiteness and patience hadnt been qualities of mine for years, i found it was a funny name and quite a goal also

My real name is Vincent btw but it seems it do not give me problem to behing called with a female name, on internet at least.

Speaking of killing mockingbirds, my friend and I were messing around with a slingshot a few days ago, and he nailed one right in the kisser. It flew off with a bruised neck, and i hope it didn't die, 'cause he'll get in trouble for killing the state bird of Tennessee!

I also managed to get a blackbird in the wing... that sucker will never fly straight again...

I created my name for a Lord of the Rings message board that I ended up never really participating in. But I liked the name and use it whenever I don't want to use my real name online. It's supposed to be Hobbit-ish, because Hobbits are my favorite characters in LOTR. "Took" is Pippin's last name. And "Merien" came from an online LOTR name generator, I think for my sister's name. However, I like it because I like words that begin with an "M" and that end with "en" instead of "an".

I was wondering about that...

Also, Took is the maiden name of Bilbo Baggins' mother, and the surname of her ancestors. This, of course, means that Bilbo/Frodo and Peregin "Pippin" Took are related... Though probably very distantly, as most hobbits are...

Shiva is one of the 3 primary aspects of God in Hindu mythology (Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer... Shiva is the Destroyer). Nataraja means "Lord of the Dance" and is the name of one of the commoner representations of Shiva, represented as a 4 armed androgynous god dancing surrounded by a circle of fire (my avatar is a Nataraja figurine, which are very common anywhere with a Hindu population, sort of like Virgin Mary figurines among Catholics, or Buddhas etc). Shiva's dance represents the "dance" of the universe being continually created and destroyed... kind of like a dynamic equilibrium...

I hope no one thinks my choice of name means i think i'm God or anything... i actually believe that, if there is a God, then it's basically the life within all beings, and that therefore any of us can claim to be (very small) aspects or incarnations of God. That's when i believe there is anything outside scientific knowledge, which there's no proof for (or indeed against)... it's more a mythology/spirituality that interests me than a religious belief as such...

I chose Shiva as "my" deity because it fits with my (loosely) anarchist politics and my love of dancing, which to me (with the right music) is my most transcendent experience... just re-read that and it sounds like extreme hippyism... i'm a *bit* more down to earth than this most of the time... ;)

Archmage,

Yeah, unfortunately I don't know all that much about LOTR. I've read the trilogy and The Hobbit and of course seen the movies, but I've never had the time to really get into the history and genealogy as much as I've wanted to.

LOL

Okay, well, maybe I should explain. I don't really have anything but a nebulous explanation.

Let's see... I actually chose it from Matt 5 ..you know, "blessed are the peacemakers," etc.

It was origionally a screen name for a theology board, but it became somewhat of a second name to me.

Besides, I don't want to part with it. I tried to think of something else, but I feel like this is a comfortable shoe, as it fits me really well. I love peace, and want to spread it in all its most uplifting forms.
